"Hey, That's My Sister!"

"Hey, That's My Sister!" stars Kathy Najimy and Bette Midler. Bette Midler plays Mary Beth Lincoln, a very famous former soap opera legend, who lives in Hollywood. Kathy Najimy plays Hillary Forester, a housewife and stay-at-home mother of three boys (Michael, 12, Malcolm, 10, and Miles, 6) who lives with her husband, Pete (Paul Reiser) and sons in Ohio. Hillary is a very big fan of Mary Beth's. The two women end up being sisters-stepsisters really.
In the pilot episode, Hillary's widowed father is on his death bed, Hillary, Pete, and other close family members are by his side. But before her dad dies, he tells Hillary in private that years ago, when he was in the service, he was stationed in San Francisco and he met another woman and got her pregnant while his 3 year stay there (all while he was married to her mom). Hillary learns he has called in his mistress and daughter out of wedlock to come see him before he passes. Hillary soon learns her new stepsister is no other than--Mary Beth Lincoln!!!
Hillary wants to know what her father was like as a father and some family history, well while her stay with Hillary and her family, Mary Beth becomes attached to the good-hearted woman and her family. Mary Beth asks to stay with them for "a while", they immediately say sure due to the fact that Hillary is her biggest fan.
In this sitcom, Mary Beth tries to teach Hillary that celebrities are like ordinary people with famous jobs which turns them famous, as Hillary teaches Mary Beth a thing or two or more about grocery shopping, being a wife and mother, cleaning, cooking, paying bills, and other ordinary everyday events and how to handle them.
