Well, I woke up around 6:35 (randomly) Saturday morning. I had set my VCR to start at 6:00 AM. Well, I didn't hear my VCR running. I guess when I went to bed last night I set the time for PM instead of AM. So, I missed the first two shows. Oh well... there's more to come!!

Who DOESN'T love 80's TV?

I'm taping every episode I can get my hands on and thats why I woke up so early and It hasn't even started!

I haven't screwed up my taping yet...

I gotta tape Press Your Luck on GSN at 8:30 Central, then watch FOL, taping whenever I don't have that ep...

I haven't screwed up yet, and I hope I don't. I'm still mad at myself for not taping seven DS episodes off TV Land. So I'll prob screw up before the night is over!

Anyways, I set my alarm for 5:54 AM, and set the timer to 5:57 AM, just in case if I didn't wake up. Today was a miracle, since I woke up before 6:15. LOL

Well, for me, it is 7:00 a.m. as I am writing this (I'm on Pacific Standard Time!). I screwed up because I thought that TV Land was going to "announce" that the Fandemonium was going to come on before it did. Nope- they didn't announce it like they did with the I Love Lucy marathon, so I didn't record the entire theme song for "Like Mother, Like Daughter" properly. Anyway, the reason why I woke up early instead of presetting the VCR is because I didn't believe they would start it exactly on time, and I wanted to avoid getting commmercials before the first ep (hey, you can only fit so much on an 8-hour tape). Instead of using up another topic, I wanna ask y'all this since it is sorta related....

I would, except last time I tried that on my "Love, Honor, and Obey" movie, and the whole tape somehow got screwed up. I had to go to a thang at church and I was prayin the whole time I was there and I think I did the sign of the cross with holy water about 20 times lol. Thank you God!

That is exactly how I m...except I have also taped Who Am I. I think TV LAND should be playing more of the eps. that N@N hasn't played. They have 216 or so eps to choose from and they chosse almost all of the ones N@N has already played. I woke up to 2 alarm clocks, my stereo timer, my sista, my dad, and my mom called from out of town singin the FOL theme song all at 9 am so I could get up for Double Standard.

I woke up at 4:00 to my alarm clock, my other alarm clock which you put a CD in and it wakes you up (I put my FOL one in), my neighbors next door blasting "H to the Izzo", and my framed autograph of Lisa falling on my face, and ouch did it hurt.

No, I wish I could do that, but it is too complicated. I know that I am going to have to have to miss a few episodes because I have some things to do around the house. I have just set the timer on six hours and am letting it run. However, tonight I will probably edit out the commercials from about 10-on.
This is so much fun, I love getting to see all this FOL!

Nope. Although a "copy of a "copy" is not as good as a first-run copy (if you know what I mean), I think it makes sense to use 2 VCR's to make a copy of the first copy you made- editing out the commercials the 2nd time around, because you'll know where the commercials are at the 2nd time around (make sense?).

Ugh. I have, but it doesn't matter. I didn't get all of "Brian and Sylvia" but I DID get the very beginning with Nancy in it. But I hated that ep, so whatever. I already have "Gossip" taped so I didn't exactally miss anything. It only taped two hours because I don't know how to chenge the speed from SP to SLP on deck 2 of my VCR. But dect one is on SLP, so I am fine. I'll just have to change tapes every 6 hours.

I'm doing something a little different. I started taping this morning, then had to leave. So, I switched tapes. I'm now done with one tape, and back on the second. I kind of like the idea of spreading out the seasons. That way, there is a little less predictability to it -- I can watch different seasons all on one tape.

Which reminds me -- I need to go buy more tapes!!!!!!!

Is anyone else like me and they have to know exactly whats on each tape. Right after I fill up a tape I type of the episodes title and make a label that I glue onto the box of the tape. And I number my tapes. Also I've printed out an episode guide and once I have an ep on tape I highlite the title of it. And then in another binder I have the name of every ep written out and I write the tape # its on so I can find it easily. Pretty crazy huh? lol, well is anyone else like this?

I do that! I lable all mine with CTV at the beginning, and the name at the end. I have 42 CTV tapes, and 2 tapes I'm going to tape over soon (Which Have GI Off Nick and three FOL episodes that are airing in the Fandemonium)

Oh my God that is so scary because that is almost the way i do mine.... you are not crazy. Then you can not find the tapes with the episodes on it.

I really wish I could tape it, but I don't get TVLand. I have been studying, studying, studying and haven't been able to visit the boards very much lately. Finally I have a break this weekend and I can't even watch it. Yes, but I don't number my tapes. Ya know, back when FOL was still on N@N, I wasn't always diligent about writing down episode titles on the tapes, so yesterday, in preparation for the marathon, I went through all my tapes to see what I already had on tape, what I needed to tape, etc. I swear, I am not joking, it took me over 8 hours!! I NEVER want to go through that again (it took so long I almost got sick of FOL) so now I am more diligent about it. I usually write down the episode title on the little tape label as I'm taping it, then when the tape is full the label is all ready to go.

As for messing up so far or not....not too bad, except just now I needed to re-tape Mind Your Own Business because my old copy had the beginning cut off, but I forgot I had knocked that little block off the tape, so it can't be recorded over, so by the time I hit eject, put tape over the hole, and started recording, the beginning was cut off again!!! Oh well, it was less cut off this time around....

AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!! SCARY!! I do the SAME EXACT thing. Word by word. My mom gets so pissed at me- she says I'm overly obsessed and FOL is all I care about in life. Charming mother, eh? She was even considering sending me to a shrink for my obsession, but, I already go to one. I do almost the samething.I printed out an episode guide then All I have to do is tape an episode then write it down in my notebook,
highlite the episode in my episode guide which is in a protective(SP?)case then when the tapes done I write on the lable "The Facts of Life Tv show tape#(?)Please do not tape over."then I take those litttle number stickers and I add them to the tape lable apply it to my tape and put it in the pink box which is getting too small.

I also do the same thing with my Nancy Mckeon
Movies and TD tapes.Which right now are in a tall box that still has room.

Darn! I messed up! I fell asleep during "Growing Pains" (I shouldn't have drunken that co-co-LOL) and the tape could only tape one hour more, so I didn't get any of the four parts of FOL Goes to Paris on Tape! I think I may have gotten the first 10 mins, but that's all. And that was what I was looking forward to the most!

By the way...you know what's REALLY cool? A two deck VCR, then you don't have to change the tapes every 6 hours. I have one of those. I think it's one of the best things ever made. Comes in handy...
