I always found it funny that Theo went to NYU, i forgot what college Vanessa went to but they both were able to make their own decisions. On the other hand, Denise was pressured by Clair, Cliff, and her Grandparents to attend Hillman. Poor Denise-lol

I think it MIGHT have had something to do with the fact that A DIFF'RENT WORLD was in the early pre-production stages and Denise was the logical choice for a spin-off considering that she was the only one old enough to go to college.

I think that once Debbie Allen took over ADW, the tone shifted to a more Afro-centric focus and I don't know how well Theo (or especially Vanessa) would have fit into that equation.

I think Theo could have easily fit in with ADW -- think of all the zaniness that might have erupted with Dwayne, Ron, Sinbad, and Theo -- t might have been interesting to see a Dwayne/Theo/Whitley love triangle instead of that dumb congressman storyline.
