DVDFreaker 06-04-2004, 12:30 PM I would pick it up if it has closed captioning.

Yes, you are very right. There are A LOT of dutch fans and they're not too likely to buy it without captions.

What do you mean by dutch? Do you mean deaf?
Jokerette 06-04-2004, 01:16 PM Yes, yes, yes! I love the College Years. :)

No, people who speak dutch...like from the Netherlands. Most of them speak English but it takes longer for them to understand than if they were reading it. They air SBTB on Nick over there with subtitles.
DVDFreaker 06-04-2004, 02:08 PM Oh that, I'm not Dutch, I'm deaf.

I meant it'd do good for them too. But that sucks you can't buy them now...maybe you can email them and ask them to do that. It may not be too late to do so.
DVDFreaker 06-04-2004, 02:15 PM I already did that an hour ago but thanks for the advice anyway, I will post the reply whenever I get it. :)

Awesome! I emailed them too.
darthsmozers 06-04-2004, 03:38 PM WAHOOoooooo!!!!
Moonlit_Suburb 06-04-2004, 04:36 PM I'm very happy that The College Years is coming to DVD, but I'm still waiting for "Season 5" of the original Saved by the Bell series to be released on DVD. I hope Lions Gate plans on releasing it...
barb1686 06-04-2004, 04:51 PM They will...the College Years DVD's are being released from Image Entertainment. :D :D (That's good news)
darthsmozers 06-04-2004, 09:26 PM What else is Image Entertainment known for? You seem happy about them.

haha Actually...I don't really know, but they've got to be better than Lions Gate. Judging by the box they are. I do know that they released the Dick VanDyke show, but I don't watch that show so I don't have the DVDs to say whether or not they're any good.
SBTBGoddess 06-05-2004, 12:51 AM I am really happy too!
I am somewhat already impressed by Image Entertainment. For instance, it's 2 months in advance that they have a webpage dedicated to it, the cover and back art displayed, the episodes, the descriptions, everything about the DVD is already known!!!! What more could we want. I have a gut feeling these disks will be nice. I plan to write them a nice e-mail soon. LOL I can't wait for Aug. 17th!!
darthsmozers 06-05-2004, 12:52 AM the Dick Van Dyke show does have some awesome box art...
Wow, so with Lions Gate probably going to go through with season 5 sometime (and hopefully the few missing episodes like Snow White and the 7 Dorks), and now with the College Years from image, all we need are:
Miss Bliss
Hawaiin Style
Vegas
haha, and of course, the new class ;)
darthsmozers 06-05-2004, 12:54 AM Any idea how they got the rights to this, and not Lions Gate? Just curious

Exactly! :D We couldn't have asked for a better company ;)
But I'm actually quite surprised TCY are being released before half of the shows out there...I mean, we all love it and everything, but it's not really that popular and it's being released before a lot of the shows out there. ...but I'm NOT arguing LOL
TTYL Guys...I'll be back the 12th from Maryland...Don't miss me too much ;)
barb1686 06-05-2004, 07:21 AM BTW - If they're anything like the Dick Van Dyke show then they have seperate cases for each DVD...
SBTB Geek 06-05-2004, 12:50 PM Wow... this is GREAT news!!! The regular SBTB DVD's must be selling well since they are all being release to close to each other. It does seem as if Image Entertainment is already doing a better job than Lion's Gate judging by the back and front covers (LOL!)

Oh, I'm well aware that Image is releasing TCY, and not Lions Gate. But, I'm just saying that I hope Lions Gate doesn't ditch SBTB for whatever reason. They still haven't announced anything about "Season 5" yet...hopefully we'll hear something soon. Do you guys think that it would be a good idea for them to release the two TV movies in the package with "Season 5"? Also, I'll buy TCY and if it ever sees the light of day, "Good Morning, Miss Bliss". "The New Class", however, I would NOT buy.
I think Image is an independent company like Shout! Factory. I hear Image is interested in releasing shows that are decently-popular...the types of shows that the major studios might not want to release. If you want shows like Small Wonder, (Shout! has been getting several requests for that show) Mr. Belvedere or Out of this World on DVD, they're the people to ask.

Thanks for posting that, I would absolutely love those three shows to be released on DVD.

Vegas Wedding is already out on DVD I believe. You can find it at amazon.
DVDFreaker 06-07-2004, 12:24 PM I just got the e-mail regarding about english subtitles/closed captioning and here what it says:
Dear Consumer,
Thank you for your inquiry. Unfortunately, this title’s licensor was not able to provide us with subtitles or closed captioning material for this title and therefore closed captioning and subtitles are not available to be included on this title.
Thank you.
That really sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!! I guess I will have to stick with the high school years! :(
SBTBGoddess 06-08-2004, 12:14 PM Wow. That really does. I never thought that's how it worked. :(
But maybe if more people issued a concern, they'd figure something out. It's worth a try! :)
