Raven Props Up Singing Career, Meets Fans In Brampton

Following in the footsteps of fellow Disney teen dreams Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff, Raven (a.k.a. Raven-Symone) is jumping from the small screen into the recording studio. The 19-year-old actress (yes, grown-ups, she’s the same little girl who played Olivia, Rudy’s cutie-pie nemesis on the later seasons of The Cosby Show) is preparing to release a full length album this fall.
Raven has also appeared on a variety of soundtrack discs, including the CD for her Disney sitcom That’s So Raven (which airs on Family in Canada). The soundtrack, which came out a couple of weeks ago, features three tracks performed by Raven herself, as well as songs by Lohan, Jamila, Jump 5 and classics by Kool & The Gang, Chaka Khan and Des’ree.
Raven will be in Southern Ontario later this week to promote the That’s So Raven soundtrack. She’ll be hanging out at the Zellers Court in the Bramalea City Centre in Brampton on Saturday (June 5), signing copies of the album. Catch her between 12 noon and 2 p.m.
In between filming That’s So Raven (which is nearly finished airing its second season) and recording her debut album, Ms. Raven has been working on her feature film career. She stars in the upcoming Disney flick All-American Girl (in which she falls in love with a fictional president’s son) and will rejoin the Cosby fold when she lends her voice to the new Fat Albert movie.
