This movie looked really weird to me. It was a good script and good acting, but the filming of it looked so odd! It looked to me like a bad home movie that you video taped in the backyard. It was a good movie though. Glad they showed it.

Yeah, the filming was a little odd, maybe they used a different kind of tape or something. Plus, it was filmed outdoors and in natural lighting instead of studio lighting so that makes it look very different too.

But I do love this movie. I love both the movies...I don't understand why some people hate them, but to each his own I guess...

"Facts of Life Goes to Paris" was not aired originally as part of the series, but as a two-hour TV movie. It wasn't until syndication that it was split into four parts. Because it was a TV-movie, it was filmed like a movie with one camera, rather than taped with three cameras in front of an audience, like the series was. That's why it looks so different.

When this first aired on NBC, it aired as an NBC Movie of the Week, and it was a BIG deal. I remember getting permission to stay up late to see the whole thing. I really enjoyed it then, but I hate seeing what they've done to it now, with all the splits and editing. You don't even get to see the scene with everyone walking through the airport and explaining what they're doing in Paris. The film quality has really deteriorated, too -- they should thing about striking a fresh print from the original negative. Some parts looked really scratchy.

NBC did the TV-movie treatment of a current series a couple of other times, too -- with the other "Facts" movie, and with "Family Ties Vacation". Both of those movies got split up for syndication, too. I'd like to see N@N run them all as movies, the way they were originally meant to be seen.
