Was there a series finale?

I know the last episode of the show was when Fred gets his high school diploma or something...

Was that a series finale?

Actually it was a season finale because a 7th season seemed likely but redd foxx accepted a offer by ABC to do a variety show and Demond Wilson was no longer interested in playing the Lamont character. Demond Wilson later went on to star in a short-lived sitcom called Baby, I'm Back in 1978 but it only lasted 8 months.

I actually like that show Baby, I'm Back. It was kind of different. A suppposedly dead husband comes back and lives in the same building with his widowed wife, kids and mother in law. I didn't like the wife's new love interest though he was corny as hell!!

Yeah he was a square. But Demond Wilson did kind of make you forget about the Lamont Sanford character on that show.

I think we may be the only three who have ever seen or remember Baby I'm Back. I was a great show with a short run.:)

Actually her name is Denise Nicholas. She's been one of my favorites since Room 222. At one moment she was married to singer Bill Withers but left him because he mistook her for a punching bag! The New Odd Couple never should have been made period!!

BET used to show this show very late at night. I remember liking it. I was enjoying seeing the relationships develop, pondering what was next...little did I know the show lasted only eight episodes. BET showed the same 8 again and again. I guess it is up to my imagination as to how things turned out. I don't forsee any reunion shows.
