View Full Version : Whatever Happened to Noreen Corcoran?
mikeaustin26 05-31-2004, 04:44 PM Does anybody have any idea whatever happened to the actress Noreen Corcoran? Last I heard she lived somewhere in the San Fernando Valley. Has she ever married? Her brother was the Disney Childs star Kevin Corcoran.
Bentley 07-20-2004, 04:00 PM I really don't know Noreen's whereabouts. Noreen if your out there let us know. Maybe Ginger knows!!! Several yrs ago she was interviewed by I think ET. Saying what a great guy John Forsythe is. I didn't see the show. I'd love to see how she is.
Coffeecup 06-06-2009, 08:59 PM Noreen I read had a ton of brothers and sisters. I think there was 6-8 of of them. I know of Brian and Kevin. In age wise I don't where Noreen stands.

Kevin Corcoran was in a bunch of Disney movies, including "Old Yeller," "The
Shaggy Dog," "Toby Tyler," "Babes in Toyland," and "Savage Sam" (to name
only a few). He was also Moochie in the Mickey Mouse Club TV serial
Spin and Marty.

"Noreen Corcoran left acting for a private career behind the scenes in theatre arts and dance. In 1966, she began an 11-year association with the Lewitzky Dance Company, which was opened that year by the renowned choreographer Bella Lewitzky. Corcoran has been retired since 2004. She resides in Chatsworth in the San Fernando Valley with her brother Hugh. She never married. She kept in contact with her friend John Forsythe until his death."
Roadster 06-08-2013, 02:02 AM Forsythe just seemed like a class act from the ground up IMO, regardless of being one of the smoothest actors ever. He could've sold ice to an eskimo. Its odd to me that an attractive woman like Corcoran never married, especially in the 60's. I bet that was one of the chilliest, most laid back sets to work on every day. Too bad all we have today is crap like Modern Family or 2 1/2 Men. Television has such power to bring people together as it did in the early 60's instead of divide them as it does today w/ it presenting dysfunctional lifestyles as functional.
HarryWild 06-08-2013, 02:50 AM If you have over the air antenna; you can probably get Bachelor Father on Antenna TV. It is shown at 11A.M-12:00 P.M. CST. Weekdays and on Sunday the same time slot!
I get a kick out of see these episodes again. If you do not get it in your area; might check Youtube.
Roadster 06-14-2013, 11:39 AM Bentley's convertible New Yorker is one smooth ride. I'd love tool around L.A. in one.

SalParadise 12-21-2013, 07:59 PM You can friend Noreen at Facebook, where she has her own page. There are also pages for the series Bachelor Father and another one for a documentary being done on the series which you can locate on either of the above pages.
Corcoran notes that she retired from acting in the late 60's mostly due to not getting enough work. She said that she'd gotten about all she could out of what she had. Not sour grapes, just an honest admission.
From her interviews and what little public access there is to her she does seem like a well grounded and down to earth person. That alone makes her stand out in her career field. Don't forget she came from an acting family, her father was employed at a major studio which probably led to that. She started acting at 3. So, by 1970, she has been at it for nearly 20 years or so.
I always thought she was good looking and a bit sexy for that era. With the way girls dressed back then it was sort of hard to determine what was going on, but even on tv you could figure things out. I imagine today there would be no question with the styles girls wear. But, her work after Bachelor Father was limited to a few guest spots on tv and a couple of teen oriented movies. Neither of the movies showed her talent off very well, and for some reason in one I kept confusing her with Leslie Gore (a major star at the time). Don't know why as they don't look alike and were built differently.
What's funny is that the series was pretty much forgotten until its revival on the nostalgia tv circuit. With the large number of episodes it's a natural for that format. Let's hope it'll stay around on air for years to come. And, that NBC-Universal will decide to release to entire series on DVD before all the people who want to buy die off.
HarryWild 12-22-2013, 12:20 AM Thanks for the info on Facebook! I just not the social network type to post on Facebook where they keep the info forever and is never delete since anything you post is theirs. You can delete the account but the info say with Facebook and can be obtain by court order for any civil or criminal purpose or the potential employer for work related character checkup. It a total time killer too. Making and following one's virtual friends all day long!

The images look like an apartment building, but the address sounds like a business. I've never heard of an apartment address referred to as "suite."

A suite is a more luxurious name for a room or apartment in a building like a hotel. It suppose to be the top of the line space with the exception of the penthouse which is an entire top floor in a building. It just a word!
The address of the location is what counts in terms of status!
Hope that clears that up.
Cincy Guy 02-21-2014, 10:52 PM From what I have seen, Noreen was a class act. She was once quoted in a feature saying that if someone ever sees her out somewhere, they shouldn't ever hesitate to walk up and say hello.

That a throw back to old Hollywood of the 40s, 50s and 60s.
Now a days; it all about avoiding your fans and separated them with bodyguards to look cool. Times have change!
SalParadise 05-07-2014, 08:38 PM Bachelor Father is now shown M-F from 4a-5a EST and on Sunday morning from 2a-3a. All are broadcast on Antenna TV, which has run the program almost entirely on early mornings, making it hard to watch for us regular tv viewers. I guess they figure most people will just tape it. But, I'm a purest and prefer to see as broadcast. Just love those Antenna TV god-awful commercials! Just kidding, but they are a real load to watch over and over.

I couldn't agree more!
