Why would Simon love it? She was joking. He hates the "broadway sound". He got onto Clay sounding too broadway all the time.

I actually think that would have worked better this year...I can just see it now...

George- Yellow Submarine
John- Yesterday
JPL- Love Me Do, I Want to Hold your Hand, or Penny Lane
Diana- Come Together
Fantasia- Hard Day's Night...maybe
La Toya- Hello Goodbye
Matt- Help!

Okay that's all I can think of *shrugs*.

oo another one I thought of...I heard they did this one in Britain, the theme is Your Birth Year and all you have to do is pick a song from the year you were born. Pretty cool, I think.

Yes. YES YES YES.

If they do that though... they'd best wait until I get on. But then I'd have a hard time choosing. I'd be like, "Do I wanna sing this song from Chicago? Or this one from TMM? OR THIS ONE FROM AIDA?!?!"

God, I'd be a wreck and end up singing from Cabaret :p

I've always thought they should do eras, starting with the 50s and working their way up. I hope they do something like that next year.

I really wish they'd stay away from making the finalists sing a particular artist's music. ohno: I mean, that always seemed to me like they were being really restrictive. Elton John week was the perfect example. I tune in to watch these people show off their good voices, not to fall flat on their faces. :o
