It's rarely seen in syndication

The board on sitcomsonline is never active

I don't think it would be a interest of individuals under 30

This sitcom is..........................MAUDE

I would buy the show but a lot of people don't know about the show or some is just not interested

Also, Is Maude being shown in anyone's local area? Last time it was shown in phila was 1989

I never understood why Maude didn't do well in syndication when all of Norman Lears other shows did well. I guest it was to topical but then again so was All In The Family.

If season 1 was available on DVD, I would probably buy it. I've never seen it, but I plan to watch the pilot on the All in the Family season 2 dvd.

I do know this. The woman who plays the daughter on that show, Adrienne Barbeau, is hot. I saw her on Jimmy Kimmel a while ago and she's still hot.

That's my point, a lot of people in your area who was not around in the 70's never seen Maude and wouldn't feel the need to buy it on DVD because they know nothing about it.

She's guest starred as Oswalds mother on The Drew Carey Show. She still looks great.

wouldn't the fact that Maude is so underplayed actually boost it's DVD sales? I mean, as opposed to a show that airs 4-6 times a day

But if people don't get a chance to see it who was not around in 72-78 then it may not do well because the know nothing about it. Just like know nothing about One Day At At Time so i wouldn't waste monet because i never had a chance to see if i liked the show.

I can understand that but hopefully Bea Arthur fans that like her from Golden Girls would want to see her in other things. Except for a couple episodes on TV Land which luckily I taped, I haven't seen Maude since 1978.

I've bought several sitcom's on DVD that I've never seen before. The only one I was dissappointed with was MASH. And that's mostly due to the fact that I paid $40.00 for it.

TV Land aired Maude a few years ago.

ODAAT isn't currently in reruns, but it was in syndication for years. I remember it on TBS in the late 80's/early 90's and then it was on E! for a few years in the mid-late 90's. I saw enough episodes to know I'd buy it if made available.

I'd buy it - I liked Maude a lot more than All in The Family, and i miss it because I have never seen it in syndication....

I remember watching ODAAT on E! a few years ago. Was there an episode where the oldest daughter dates her dentist?

You'd be suprised.... the biggest market for TVDVDs is babyboomers.

I might buy Maude when its eventually released, but its not a priority.

You just made the key statement, Lots of people may not rush to get it because it won't be a priority

Its not a priority for ME.
Niether is The Simpsons.... and that's the highest selling TVDVD ever, I believe.

But individuals can sample the Simpsons since it's seen so much. Can't say the same for Maude. Plus i don't think it's normal for individuals to make a blind DVD purchase and not know if they are going to like the show.

Why would it be unusual??
Ive heard of many people blind-buying TV shows.
People do it with movies ALL the time, why not with TV shows??

I heard of people RENTING movies they never saw before for $4.00 but not taking $40.00 and buying a tv show they never seen. I'm sorry but that is very unusual. That's throwing money away. Now if you are rich maybe not. But for a average working person that just doesn't make any sense.

More people buy movies on DVD than see them in theaters.
Thats perfect proof that people blindbuy movies.

Why dont people do the same for TVDVDs??
Thats right.... they do.

As someone who has "blind bought" several sitcoms on DVD, I don't think it's really throwing money away. MASH, The Jeffersons, and Barney Miller I bought on DVD because even though I never saw them before, they were popular shows and I know I would never see those shows on tv. I also plan on "blind buying" the Mary Tyler Moore Show and the Honeymooners. If I don't like them, I have the choice of not buying any more seasons. I will admit however, I paid more than I should have for MASH season1 DVD.

He didn't grow breasts,he was testing them as a project for Drug Co.(where Lewis worked)
