TALLguyinKY 05-29-2004, 06:08 PM NBC!! :D :D :D She was smartier, sexier, had a bigger part in the show, had many more funny lines, and had a backbone to go against Mama. Enough said. andress_jade 05-30-2004, 01:39 AM I picked syndicated because she wanted to have a baby and I believe that if we would have had more episodes after Naomi gave birth to Tiffany that she would have been a great mommy. I liked her hair better in the NBC years though. She didn't seem to like kids in the NBC years, even though she tolerated Vint's kids. Maybe I'm wrong, but when she was getting ready for her wedding she said something about why she didn't have kids of her own. I don't know, I just love babies and to see someone like Naomi have a baby was really neat. I guess I'm weird. There were times, though that I liked Naomi in the NBC years, like when she stood up to her ex and chose to stay with Vint even though he wasn't the sharpest tool in the shed. JMO. :D  FamilyTiesGOP 05-30-2004, 12:59 PM Syndicated all the way! The NBC Vinton and Naomi could be down right mean and there is only enough room for Mama in that department if you ask me. I like both Vint and Naomi more dizzy and Mama the voice of reason against "the goons" Vint, Naomi, and Bubba. I'm with you on that one! I just think they are funnier when they are goofy! :D jterry 05-30-2004, 04:09 PM Originally posted by Sterling Holobyte I'm with you on that one! Actually she really did like Buzz 'n Sonja, 'n sometimes overcompensated to make sure they would like her; she was insecure at first they wouldn't. In "The Wedding Part I" she doesn't say why she doesn't have kids, she says that not havin' had kids before she think they ought to teach about it in school. And she let Buzz 'n Sonja go to the carnival (though Mama put a stop to that), she was overly praising of Sonja in her homecoming outfit, gave her advice, took an interest in Buzz's school activities, etc. TALLguyinKY 05-30-2004, 07:05 PM Originally posted by FamilyTiesGOP Syndicated all the way! The more dysfunction, the better the episode! lol I'm more a fan of everybody standin' up for themselves 'n fightin' for their ways/rights instead of ev'rybody submittin' to one individual. I don't think Vint 'n Naomi were mean, though; not at all. They had to stand up for themselves so much. Mama, on the other hand, could be cruel. Just look at how she treated poor Naomi in the episode where she gets a job at Food Circus. That is one episode where, I love the episode, but it's so hard to like Mama in it because she's completely wrong, unreasonable, and underhanded. Thank goodness that was 1 of few shows where she was like that! lol FamilyTiesGOP 05-30-2004, 11:55 PM Originally posted by TALLguyinKY I disagree. Mama did pull some nasty stunts on Vint and Naomi though. The one you mentioned and the one I can think of the most was the dinner party that Mama ruined for Naomi. But still, Vint and Naomi were living there for free, so they really couldn't stand up for themselves but so much. And they usually got there way in the syndicated eps too, but they were nice about it. She didn't really like Bubba at 1st because he took Fran's room after she died, but Naomi came to like him. andress_jade 06-01-2004, 12:38 AM Sorry I was wrong. For some reason, I just liked the syndicated Naomi better, but there were times I liked NBC Naomi. Cashodeen 06-03-2004, 09:03 PM N B C. Naomi (along with Vint) were more watered down in the syndication seasons. I liked that Naomi during the NBC run didn't talk in that squeeky, airheaded voice, and she actually was very sharp. In syndication, she was just blah. A huge reason why I like the NBC years more is because the character's were better developed and more realistic. |
