View Full Version : Season 3 news
ADFamily 05-27-2004, 10:34 PM Latest news is that Season 3 has now been cut back to 13 episodes instead of the 22 announced earlier. That's less than last season which was toooooo short! Time to start emailing, writing or whatever to NBC to let them know how we feel about that. What are they doing, trying to kill this show?
dancinqueen037 05-28-2004, 11:25 AM what???? i dont believe it...that should be like illgeal in the tv world lol....where did u find this out, like what site..i really hope its not true, but who knows :(
ADFamily 05-28-2004, 06:10 PM I found it on another website: www.vidiot.com/AmericanDreams/
There is a lot of info about the show and actors, etc. Pretty good site. Seems to have lots of inside info.
drbrun0 05-28-2004, 07:00 PM I've looked at the vidiot site, and they claim to have gotten the info from tvguide online. I've searched tv guide online, but I can't find it mentioned anywhere that they've cut the number of eps. I don't know what to think at this point. I do know that I am going to e-mail NBC and ask about it, making it very clear that if the info is true, I'm very disappointed in the network.
If anyone else wants to e-mail, the contact is listed as Grace Niu, and her e-mail addy is grace.niu@nbcuni.com.
ADFamily 05-29-2004, 11:18 AM I searched TVGuide Online too but didn't find it. I have found that Vidiot has been very accurate in the past. He seems to have access to info others don't.
david&maddie4ever 05-30-2004, 10:45 PM :explode: This stuff makes me so mad!
nicole_adluver4 05-31-2004, 12:39 PM does anybody have an answer about this for sure?
Storywriter 06-02-2004, 12:11 AM Its only June you guys......Things can changed again by September......I wouldn't worry yet but you can still email NBC or whatever.....Mel :)
herladyship 06-02-2004, 07:15 PM Hi, I couldn't find anything on tv guide online either, but I did find this, it is from NBC Universal Media Village web page and I just copied the bit about American Dreams. It says it was published on May 17th. I know it doesn't say anything on how many episodes, but cutting it down to 13 is awfully drastic and you would think they would say what would be playing in that time slot when Dreams isn't on. Hope this makes you all feel a little better! I love this show too!
NBC BUILDS ON TOP-RATED SUCCESS WITH ANNOUNCEMENT OF ITS NEW PRIMETIME PROGRAM SCHEDULE FOR 2004-05
Published: May 17, 2004
The growing Sunday lineup returns virtually intact from last spring as "Dateline NBC" launches the night again (7-8 p.m. ET). The upbeat "American Dreams" enters its junior year (8-9 p.m. ET) and scores the highest upscale indexes of any Sunday drama on any network. Once again, the investigative drama "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" (9-10 p.m. ET) follows, having gone undefeated this season in 18-49 versus regular competition. The night concludes with the rejuvenated crime drama "Crossing Jordan" (10-11 p.m. ET) in its fourth season. Since its return in Spring 2004, it represents NBC's top-rated original series in the slot in five seasons and wins the hour in 18-49 against regular programming by a whopping 44 percent.
ADFamily 06-02-2004, 10:49 PM I haven't found anything else either. 13 episodes just isn't enough to do justice to any storyline. I still think it would be a great idea to keep letting NBC know just how much we love this show. Never hurts.............
I am having serious withdrawal. Wish that DVD was out now so I could at least watch that.
Storywriter 06-02-2004, 10:51 PM Its only June so I wouldn't worry too much that could be an error at the site too Im guessing.....Im sure when September comes around we will know a little more.....But your right 13 episodes are too little they should keep the full 22 Mel :)
LuV2DreeM 06-08-2004, 07:07 PM Any of you find out any news on whether this ugly rumor is true or not?
drbrun0 06-08-2004, 08:00 PM I haven't heard anything back from where I e-mailed NBC, nor have I heard any confirmation anywhere else on the net either.
I've searched TV Guide online, but haven't been able to find the article that the vidiot site was referring too. I'm hoping that maybe perhaps, tv guide got the info from a misinformed nbc exec... Wishful thinking on my part right now, but you know, stranger things have happened.
