Recently a news channel in Orlando, Florida (where Kirsten is originally from and her father was an anchorman) aired story which revealed Kirsten would be leaving Days in July to work full time on her new drama 'The Club House.' The role of Belle will most likely be recast. Update: The new issue of Soap Opera Digest has some news on Kirsten's departure, so check them out for more info!

I never really cared for Kirsten Storms. She always seems so babyish and teenybopperish. I hope they recast Belle with someone who is a bit more mature, but they probably won't. Chances are they will recast her with someone with the same likeness as Kirsten. Oh well.

Thank the lord for small favors! I've never been able to stand Kirsten Storms, although she's gotten better recently. I hope the recast is better and, like you said, more mature.

I agree, it's time for a new, more mature Belle. Storms isn't horrible, but it's like she whines her lines every day, LOL.

I've heard that Robyn Richards (Currently Maxie, GH) is considering testing for the role of Belle on "DOOL".

This is great! I swear, if I hear "Oh my God! Shawn! Oh my God! Shawn!" one more time....Tina, bring me the axe!

According to some very reliable sources- DOOL has decided to recast the role of Belle, RIGHT AWAY. Sources say that whoever gets the role will appear the VERY NEXT DAY that Kristen Storms leaves. Also sources are reporting that some very high profile names are testing for the role.

So far the following names have been said to have tested-

Erin Hershey-Presley (Ex-Allison, Port Charles)- EHP is said to be a front-runner for this role and very excited about the oppurtunity to work at DOOL. So far none of her people have released a comment and DOOL has said "No Comment" to casting rumors.

Also, Erin Torpey (Ex-Jessica, OLTL) is said to have been offered the role, but apparently has turned it down.

Robyn Richards (Maxie, GH) is also rumored to be testing for the role. I'm not sure if she has a contract at GH and if she does how this would affect her work there, usually contract actors are not allowed to appear on competing shows w/out permission and i'm sure that GH would NOT allow her to go to DOOL. Time will tell.

My Thoughts-

Of these people Robyn Richards is the only one i think is right for the role. I think that both Torpey and Presley are too old and honestly too good for the role. Torpey is one of the best young actresses to ever appear on soaps and deserves something much better than an underdeveloped and unutlizied role on Days Of Our Lives.

Hershey Presley is also FAR TOO OLD for this role. However she would be great on DOOL, i believe she'd have great chemistry with Alison Sweeny, they could play enemies or even best friends.

Richards is a very good actress and just needs the right material to shine, she has never truly been utilized at "GH" and i think another show would treat her better. I also think she is very fitted to the role of Belle. She'd have great chemistry w/ Deidra Hall and the rest of the cast.

I think Robyn Richards is the best choice of the ones up for the role. She is closer to Belle's (and Kirsten Storms') age and is under-used at GH. Hey factsoflife, I heard a couple weeks ago (from a reliable source as well) that DOOL had decided to wait until next February to recast the role of Belle and that when Kirsten Storms leaves the character would be off the canvas until then. You're news must be more recent than mine. TPTB change their minds so often these days.

Yes, DOOL was origianlly going to wait until Feb to recast but has apparently changed their minds and decided to recast right away. I've heard that Torpey was offered and declined the role, which lead the way for DOOL offering Presley the role. And Richards camp has denied any talk of her leaving GH for DOOL. We'll just see what happens. With rumors that Richards is supposed to have a big storyline at GH this summer, i'm not so sure. But we'll see. I hope that all of these actresses find work somewhere. But Richards is the best choice of these three. However i think it may be better for DOOL to find an unknown and give her the role. I'm sure its an easier role to recast than say Bridget at B&B, since Jenifer Finnigan was such a power-house, well respected actress.

I've heard today that the role has offically gone to Erin Torpey, but so far have gotten no offical confirmation. i'll keep you posted.

Yeah i read that too. However i'm hesitant to believe it because IMDB has in the past posted false information. until i see it in Soap Opera Digest or Weekly i won't believe it.

I knew that Erin Torpey didn't get the role, i knew she wouldn't accept it! IMDB is very unreliable.

Though I must admit I was pretty disappointed, I'm still going to give her a fair chance. This girl definitely seems more mature than Kirsten but yet she seems a bit too mature. Plus, both my mom and I think she sounds like she's reading her lines or something. It could all just be from nerves though. They're saying some pretty nasty things on the AOL boards and not even giving her a chance. She's not going to be like Kirsten Storms because she ISN'T Kirsten Storms. I really don't know if I like her or not. I'm just going to have to wait and see.

I, too, was disappointed. I was hoping she'd be better...she's slightly below Kirsten Storms, who isn't great, either. I'm still ging to give her a chance though.

Charity Rahmer has already been recast as Belle; her replacement started taping today:

Starting on-air August 10th, the role of "Belle" will be portrayed by Martha Anne Madison. Martha began work July 20th.

I was just coming here to post that, lol. I read an interview with Charity at Soap City and she said she was so excited when she was told she got the role. She must be so disappointed now. I can't help but feel bad for her. Hopefully people will react better to Martha Anne Madison (whoever she is lol).
