In this episode, the season opener for the 1980-81 campaign, while the girls are looking back to the good times they had in their old Milwaukee apartment as bottlecappers, the song "Yesterday" plays. Unfortunately it did not sound like it was sung by the Beatles, at least on Lifetime. Was the Beatles' version sung when it originally aired on ABC?

I believe a cover version was used even back when it was on ABC, James.

That's good. I didn't want to think Lifetime was too cheap to pony up the extra dough to use the Beatles' version--that is, if the original ABC episode used it.
I read about what happened to the songs from WKRP in Cincinnati when it was on N@N. I remember a special on The Wonder Years a while back, and during a scene which employed Percy Sledge's song "When A Man Loves A Woman" they used Michael Bolton's version instead! (Disclaimer: This statement is in NO WAY intended to be a criticism toward Mr. Bolton.)
