View Full Version : Is Nancy McKeon quitting the show?
Nancyfan2005 05-26-2004, 10:14 PM I've heard somewhere that she wanted alot less drama in her life.
Then it said she's not doing a season 5, and then it said thatshe's doing a 5th season. Which one is it. Is she quitting, or is she staying, what. I think the truth should come out. If Nancy quit's, I'll never watch the show or the Lifetime channel or the Lifetime Movie Network ever again. I'll also petition for other networks to show Nancy Mckeon's movies instead, IE, Lifetimes big archrival the Oxygen channel, The We channel, the Biography channel for the Tracy Thurman movie and Firefighter both, Court TV could also show the Tracy Thurman movie as well, as it involved a big court case. The Wrong Woman could be shown on one of the Premium channels, especially on the IFC channel. The Wrong Woman according to the IMDB is classified as an Independent Film. So it could be shown on IFC. Her other TV movies like This Child is Mine, Strange Voices, and The Last Mafia Marriage could be shown on either WE channel, PAX, or A&E channels. I hope to god that Nancy doen't decide to do something foolis and quit the very show that reinvented her image. That would be very boldheaded to just give up on fame, especially considering that her husband, a key grip, makes a hell of a lot less money than her.

Whew....ok...the "lots less drama" thing was Jinny. Not Nancy. Big difference. Go to www.lifetimetv.com. They explain that part.
I haven't heard if Nancy is doing a 5th season. Personally, I hope the cancel the show, or decide to stop doing it. I really don't like it now. Not just because of CD's leaving, or just because of Stacey...it's a culmination of everything that has happened these past two seasons.
I really don't think that $$ is an issue for Nancy and her husband. I'm sure she's made more than enough by being one of the stars of a hit show, twice. (FOL is probably still being shown in syndication somewhere, just not anywhere here, unfortunately, and she probably gets royalties, if that's what you call them.) So, she doesn't have anything to worry about.
Nancyfan2005 05-26-2004, 11:28 PM I don't think FOL is showing anywhere else in the world. Heck, alot of foreigners don't even know that FOL exists, let alone Nancy McKeon. I think that FOL royalties already dried up a couple of years ago when they stopped showing it on Hallmark. So no, Nancy McKeon is not receiving any royalties from FOL anymore. I don't think any of the former FOL stars are, either. The only hope if they are to get their royalties flowing again is to have FOL released on DVD.
Snowfall 05-27-2004, 01:39 AM As much as I wouldn't want to lose Jinny from the show, I really don't think that it would be "foolish" for Nancy to quit. I mean, my gosh, she's been working since she was three, and now she has a family that needs her, too. I think it would be totally understandable if she wanted to quit.

So Snowfall, you would still watch it if Nancy McKeon were to quit.
I know I wouldn't.
DarthMaul'sDiciple 05-27-2004, 02:16 AM The show would totally, and I mean really totally suck without Nancy McKeon and her Jinny character. It would totally suck hard core without Nancy McKeon in it, period. And don't even flirt with the idea of recasting Jinny Exstead if Nancy were to leave. That would suck at so many levels more. Both scenarios would suck so hard core.
CD DeLorenzo 05-27-2004, 07:47 AM okay, this is something that desperately needs to be said.
you guys are ridiculous! (mind me, of course not all of you. This is directed to the hypocrites here)
when Tracey left and the Tracey fans were upset, we got to hear "It's just a show" and that we complained too much and god knows what else. And we didn't even start until it was certain that she had left, without reason even!
Now Nancy had a baby, and it isn't even official that she leaves the show, or if the show is even gonna have a fifth season. Of course it would suck if she leaves, or if it gets cancelled, personally I couldn't care less, I stopped watching when CD left, so I can understand those who don't want to watch it anymore. But whatever happened there, or whatever is going on with Nancy now, those are personal things, between the actresses and the producer. Shouldn't we just all wish that each of them are happy, no matter what they want to do next?
The thing that's pissing me off is that the same people who first scolded the CD fans, now, just a few months later, are doing the exact same thing. Hypocrites really are the worst thing for a community.
Peace

I agree...I was one that helped make a protest for the CD fans, but I never EVER said anything about Boycotting the show, or at least I don't believe so. I could be wrong, but I am just about postive that I didn't ever say boycott the network, and or all of lifetime channels. WE had a petshion for people to sighn maybe hopeing to bring back Tracey Needham, but once we realized that it wasn't going to work we stopped.
Something else I would like to point out...Yes, we did have some Annoying Tracey fans who were spouting out to stop watching the show, And who were putting down Amy Jo, but I for one don't believe i did that, and told other fans that it was not right for them to do so, and I still believe that. So I may not like the character but I waited to watch her before I made my opuion. Yes, I think the show hasn't been as good this year, but that's me. For all I know it could get better next season, and I think this season has gotten better as the year went on besides the shows that Nancy weren't in I didn't like those that much, but i did like the secound one. I gess this is just another one of my rambles, but it's how I feel...and now on to the next thread , and my next ramble!
DarthMaul'sDiciple 05-28-2004, 03:42 PM I really don't think that $$ is an issue for Nancy and her husband. I'm sure she's made more than enough by being one of the stars of a hit show, twice. (FOL is probably still being shown in syndication somewhere, just not anywhere here, unfortunately, and she probably gets royalties, if that's what you call them.) So, she doesn't have anything to worry about.
I'd like to see a ballpark figure of how much Nancy makes per eppisode of The Division and how much she made per eppisode of Facts of Life and how much she makes per year on Facts of Life royalties and royalties from her TV movies and Intimate Portrait.
I thought so. She doesn't make enough. I've even heard she married Marc Andrau because of his moneys. I think he makes a hell of a lot of money being a key grip. More money than Nancy McKeon herself makes in a year with The Division and all her royalties(if she gets royalties that is{I think the producers of FOL and Nancy's tv movies gets all the royalties instead}). I think Nancy could survive off of just Mark Andrau's income alone. Hell, I've even heard Nancy sold her car, her house, and her production company all and is making a permanent move to Austin, Texas to stay with her husband. She's even dropped her McKeon last name and wants to be just known as Nancy Andrau instead. She's dumping Hollywood for good. Hell, I've even heard that she doesn't even care for her fans anymore. She would care less if her millions of beloved fans, and her most die-hard fans, all turned againt her. It was even estimated that she lost hundreds of thousands of fans when she first got married in June of 2003.
Nancy McKeon, whether you like it or not, is losing too many of her fan base, not to mention that she's losing her cult and her cult status. I think Nancy would rather live off of Mark Andrau's income for the rest of her life and be a housewife and have Marc Andrau rule the home instead. Let's face it, people, Nancy is giving up acting for good, just like Lisa Whelchel did in 1991.
Future predictions:
I see Nancy McKeon being a born again Christian next year and home-schooling her child and any other children she has when they're school age, just like Lisa Whelchel does with her kids.
I just hope I don't get ridiculed for this or kicked out for this, either.
*MIBabe03* 05-28-2004, 04:00 PM Okay according to you she is losing her fans and doesn't care about them anymore. If that is the case, than why would her die hard fans boycott Lifetime if she left the show. That doesn't make any sense at all. Also if she does end up leaving for Austin Texas, maybe she is doing it because she wants to focus on motherhood. Maybe that is more important to her, it's her perrogative. I say whatever makes her happy, it's her life. If you were a true fan, you would be happy with her decision regardless. Also she is married to Marc Andrus, not Marc Andrau. I'm not even one of her fans and I knew that.
Ewan's My Man 05-29-2004, 12:50 PM Honestly? I personally don't care anymore. The show needsta be shot an put out of it's misery anyways. Besides, Jinny was best when she was all troubled.
Nancy gave us what...34 years of her life? Well, I want her to be able to go off and actually LIVE a life while she still has the chance.
*shrugs* I'm done.
Inspector Bariteau 05-31-2004, 02:04 PM ALL I KNOW, is ANYONE who is mad at Nancy if she leaves TD needs to think about this. Lifetime may be stupid in writing, but they're smart enough to know that 90% of the fans they have is because of Nancy, or Nancy and Tracey respectively. Because they have BOTH done LOTS of other roles in the past, and that the fans just follwed them over to TD. So now with Tracey gone, and Nancy gone the show will hit rock bottom soon. Watch! At least if Tracey were there it would keep there head above water, so to speak. But that's not my point. My point is, if you can't understand that the only reason Nancy would even dream of leaving the show is to concentrate on her family, then you need to rethink this all. And I think she is real smart for leaving, if she does, and I LOVE her for that. I would do the same. It is virtually impossible to have a full-time career on screen, and take care of all of the demanding needs of a mother to an infant, and STILL be a loving and caring wife. IT IS VIRTUALLY IMPOSSIBLE. Although I understand if anyone could do it, it would be Nancy. She'd probably do a scene, and have Aurora 10 feet away from her if she'd cry she'd stop a scene. HAHA I can so see that. As her mother said, a vacation to her is another job, but I know she wouldn't put her child at risk to do what she loves. She's not that kind of person. But anyway, I can not blame her 1% if she wanted to quit the show and take a break. Hell she deserves one!!! 30 some odd years of service on screen. So remember, if you boycott Lifetime for agreeing with Nancy leaving and not putting up a fight about it, then you're pretty much boycotting Nancy wanting to make a job out of being a full time mother. Think about it.

Inspector Bariteau 05-31-2004, 04:06 PM TY! That was just my two cents. Others might feel differently.
duffy76 05-31-2004, 05:41 PM Why are we even having this discussion? I haven't read anywhere that Nancy is leaving the show. She is on MATERNITY LEAVE!!!!!! Something millions of women do a year. Can't the woman take a break after having a baby, for the love of God? Doesn't she deserve that? If you want to stop watching the show, stop watching! Stop moaning about it and turn it off.

You're right about that. Jinny was totally ausome when she was a drunk and even more awesome as a slut. I loved the outfits she wore then. Very sexy attire, If you ask me. Makes me wanna petition for them to definitely release 1st. season of The Division on DVD. Who knows, those PG14DVL rated eppisodes gould be upgraded to Mature rated eppisodes once on DVD. Ever heard of extras? Hate to say this for you more sensitive Jinny fans and fans of The Division, but with DVD, we may actually see Jinny completely stripped down, not completely nude, but in her bras and panties. Remember Jinny's shiny/leathery black thong on the very first eppisode? Now that was a good way to start a series. How many other series started out that juicy? None that I could remember. And no, I haven't seen all the first season eppisodes at all, and I'm wanting them that bad, now. I'm wanting them real bad on DVD, Hell yeah. If I had them on DVD, I'll probably watch three eppisodes at once. How? Lets see, I have a regular DVD player that can view 1 disk, I have an XBox video game console that can also play DVD's, that's viewing #2, and I also have a portable DVD player that can play a third disk. I have them all hooked up to my A/V switchboard, and I have three different eppisodes to watch at the same time.
Inspector Bariteau 06-03-2004, 09:32 PM Well, glad you are as big a fan of Nancy as I am. Or even more so, it sounds like. But sorry to say you also sound like a freak. Talking about Nancy like that. I was going to offer you what I have of season one that you don't have, but you know what forget it now. You have the sick pathetic stalker like sound to your voice. I wouldn't send you tapes of her or anything she's in if my life depended on it. Besides, it sounds like you enjoy rubbing your expensive stuff in our face too much.
The Bandera Boys 06-03-2004, 10:30 PM Guess what? The Division isn't immune to what the DVD commision want's as extras. Now is it, people. And you know who you are, too. Let's see, we seen nude extras on NYPD Blue's DVD season set, especially Dennis Franz's swinging you know what.
We seen nude scenes on Alias DVD sets, some nude scenes on some of the Buffy the Vampire Slayer DVD sets, especially one scene in which Buffy slays this totally naked vampire with the wooden stake. So don't tell me The Division is immune to all the extras come DVD release time, if it's announced in the first place, that is. And guess what, there's nuthing more like it when we get to see Sydney Bristow tackling down a man without his pants even on. Now that's extreme DVD. And if you're afraid of that kind of stuff when and if they release The Division on DVD, there's a feature on your DVD called ratings limit. All DVD players are now equipped with them. All you got to do is program it right. Beleive me, It worked well with my Sanford and Son DVD collection. I put the ratings limit to Y, and guess what? There were certain eppisodes that wouldn't play, other eppisodes played, but certain lines were completely altered, but not cut out. Just altered. So just program your DVD player's maximum rating limit if you're worried. I know I do when the youngins come over.
And yes, I think The Division for season 1 DVD will either be TV14-DSLV at the bare minimum or even MATURE just like The Shield's rating is. Hey, that's what people wan't, ya know. What do people on Sitcom's online for both The Division and FOL combined =? but just 1% of Nancy McKeon's 3 million+ fanbase that watches The Division. Look at past Neilsen's ratings, and you'll figure it out. The Division Season 1 premier=3,500,000 estimated viewers. Season 2 premier of The Division=3,900,000 estimated viewers. They only had it at a TV14DSLV max rating because it's on Lifetime. And even Lifetime say's TV14-DSLV is too strong for most viewers and would rather settle for plain old TV14 at it's max to an average of TVPG-VL. Most of the critics said they watched mainly because of Nancy McKeon, others said because of Bonnie Bedelia and Tracey Needham. You can also go on over to the Lifetime chat and see that Nancy McKeon is second place behind Bonnie Bedelia. Only because Nancy McKeon had like 12 or 14 other posting message boards and Bonnie Bedelia has only but 1 and still filling up. Sorry to say this, but it's Nancy McKeon who the other 2,500,000+ mob fan base wants. Hell, If Nancy McKeon quits this show, I hope she does it for the real Hollywood. The real movies, not just some crappy TV movies on Lifetime. I hope Nancy McKeon does some kind of Kung-Fu type action movie that Sandra Bullock keeps snatching away. Hell, In my warped out oppinion, I think this will offend any Alias fan or fan of Jennifer Garner that may be brousing this board. I think Nancy McKeon would have made a better Electra on Daredevil as well as Paul Walker being the ultimate Daredevil himself. Now that's a combo I will be willing to spend $12 at the matinnee to see. But like Hollywood these days, we're stuck with Ms. Garner wearing green colored contacts and Mr. Affleck wearing lite blue colored contacts both for their Daredevil roles. And yes, it pissed me off. They both looked totally fake. I'd say we banned all colored and enhancer contact lenses that enhanses or completely changes your eye color and use only colored lenses that were available for the industry before 1987 with only cat's eyes, splotchy red/orange colored lenses, snake's eyes lenses, frog's eyes lenses, white-out special effects contact lenses, vampire eyes lenses, blind man's white-out eyes contact lenses, fake cataracts contact lenses, and my all time favorite, glow in the dark special effects contact lenses, and other special effects contact lenses, and we'll see how far Hollywood will go in it's talent search for the green eyed role or blue eyed role. Yes, I'll admit in 1978 they had no choice but Christopher Reeves for the role of Superman, but now in day's we get to see Dean Cain sporting some awesome blue colored contacts to match his suit and superman/clark kent personas.

I didnt bother reading your entire post because at the moment I'm too lazy to do so but what I think Inspector Bariteau was trying to point out was, while she respects the fact that you're a Nancy fan, she doesnt appreciate the inappropriateness of your post. You're new here so I'm gonna cut you a little slack. But I completely understand where she's coming from. The majority of us at The Division board (as far as I know) are females. And I really dont think any of us would appreciate the inappropriateness of your first post in this thread.
Now, I understand where you're coming from also. You're just stating your opinion and you have every right to do so. But there are rules and limits to what you can post on this website because there is no age limit to who can register here. There are a lot of young people here. So if you could just tone your posts down a little bit, it would be greatly appreciated.

Okay so I couldnt help but notice that you mentioned Bonnie Bedelia's boards over at the Lifetime site. There have actually been more than one Bonnie board over the years. I really dont remember how many because I usually dont post over there but there have been more than one. And while Nancy McKeon does have a very large fan base, so does Bonnie Bedelia and Tracey Needham. A lot of the Nancy fans have wandered and I've known a few that dont even bother to watch the show anymore. I think Bonnie and Tracey hold the more mature fanbase (People who have followed their careers throughout the years). And Lisa had her fanbase from when she was on Third Watch. Nancy has more of a pre-teen following. Its always been that way because of The Facts Of Life reruns and everything. So, what you said isnt entirely true. Everyone in the cast brought in a good amount of fans. Just pointing that out.

As far as I know there have been at least 6 boards pertaining to Bonnie Bedelia on the Lifetime site. :) I also agree with you a hundred percent.
duffy76 06-04-2004, 11:38 AM The best way to get rid of this freak that continues to obsess over eye color and has multiple screen names (we all know it's the same person) is to report them to moderator and ignore them. Please stop responding to him and egging him on. Maybe he'll go away if we ignore him.
