didn't Chico And The Man follow Sanford And Son on NBC? Not positive but I think that show's success was much due to it's timeslot

Yes it followed S&S at 8:30pm on Friday NIghts.

Alot of the women on the messageboard love the show because they love Freddie Prinze. I admit, I didn't find the show that funny at first, either. But I kept watching it and now love the show. I'm also sure that the post "Sanford and Son" timeslot had something to do with it's success in the beginning. But I also think it made a name for itself.

I realize that a lot of people are going to want to kill me after this, so in my defense I'll just say that this is simply my opinion and I don't expect anyone to agree with me. I do not understand how Laverne and Shirley and Mork and Mindy ever became hits. I always thought these were two of the worst shows ever. I mean Mork and Mindy had a guy coming to Earth in a flying egg!

I agree 100%. Mork was a TRUE WEIRDO. I strongly believe the target age for Mork and Mindy was 5-13-LOL

They were spinoffs of the biggest show in America, of course they'd be hits.

And about M&M.... it starred a comic GENIOUS, and if you deny Robin Williams being one of the greatest comics ever, you don't know comedy.

I don't have an opinion on Mork and Mindy, considering it's been years since I've seen it, but I agree with you on L&S. I never have found that show funny.

I agree. I admit I prefer Robin's dramatic work (I thought he deserved to be nominated for One Hour Photo) to most of his comedic work. But still, the man IS funny

Yeah he was as a matter of fact. In 1979 he and the show were both emmy nominees. He lost to Carroll O'Connor and when he did the press complained that O'Connor had one for the 4th time and Williams was a fresh face who deserved it. The show lost to Taxi.
