Hey guys. I just read on TVshowsonDVD.com that Bill Cosby: Himself is coming to DVD later this year from Fox. Great news. Even better news, is the fact that Carsey-Werner, the company that owns the rights to The Cosby Show are currently shopping around for a distributor to get their shows on DVD in the USA. According to TVshowsonDVD.com, a retail DVD release for The Cosby Show IS going to happen, and they will bring us the news as soon as C-W get all this straightened out.

This is very exciting news. I'm also hoping that along with The Cosby Show, C-W release the following shows...

3rd Rock from the Sun
Roseanne
That '70s Show

Hopefully CW leases The Cosby Show to Anchor Bay or Image Entertainment. They do great jobs in making DVD's.

Shout!Factory does a great job, too. Freaks And Geeks: The Complete Series and Freaks And Geeks: The Special Edition are both outstanding sets. Their upcoming SCTV Network 90: Volume 1 box-set also looks like a must-buy.

But yeah, I'm with you. I hope they lease the shows to one of the three afforementioned companies who would give the show the deluxe treatment it deserves. If Paramount or one of the other big distributers releases it, I'm sure it would just be a standard edition.
