I like Nirvana too, though I always felt they were a little overrrated. I remember being a sophomore in high school when Nevermind came out and just loving it. Critics talked like Nirvana were on the same level as The Beatles though, and I always felt that opinion was a bit extreme. I was very saddened with Kurt commited suicide. That was a great loss of talent and besides, it is terrible when anyone takes their life. I'm happy to see that Nirvana and their music has lived on though.

I like Kurt Cobain. I'm more of a Nirvana fan than I am of Kurt Cobain as an individual, though.

It kind of sucks how it's easier to find Kurt Cobain t-shirts/posters these days than to find ones of Nirvana.

it really creeped me the hell out when I turned on a classic rock staton, and they were playing Smells Like Teen Spirit.

SLTS is a classic, but hearing it up alongside Lynyrd Skynyrd and The Who makes me feel so old. LOL

Nirvana were great

Why not? No matter what Courtney Love says, they were as important to the success of Nirvana as Kurt Cobain was.

Bleach was an okay album, but the drummer(s) who played on it weren't nearly as good as Dave Grohl. Dave is one of the greatest drummers of all time. If the sloppy Chad Channing played on Nevermind or In Utero, the would never have been hits.

Next time you listen to those two albums (or Queens Of The Stone Age's [i]Songs For The Deaf), listen closely to the precise drumming. Dave's responsible for that.

Similarly, Nirvana wouldn't be Nirvana without the bass of Krist Novoselic.

???

If you meant that they wanted to keep "You Know You're Right" to themselves, you're wrong. They wanted to release it as part of a boxed set of unreleased material, and not release a greatest hits album (which was the idea of Courtney Love, who was never a member of Nirvana).

Courtney got her way. After the song was leaked on the Internet, the poorly-assembled Nirvana compilation (with careless song selection) was released in late 2002.

no offense, but isn't a Kurt Cobain fan who hates Nirvana about the same as a Mick Jagger fan who hates The Rolling Stones, or a John Lennon fan who hates The Beatles?

I wouldn't say I know everything about them. But I've been a Nirvana fan since 1992.
