What do you think? Chocoholic 05-25-2004, 10:24 AM Definitely Friends. I never could understand the appeal of that show. Other shows I find over-rated: Seinfeld Will & Grace Everybody Loves Raymond (I used to like that show, but even then I thought it was over-rated.) Sex and the City those reality shows TJL 05-25-2004, 10:37 AM Originally posted by Sideshow Kristen Everybody Loves Raymond Sex and the City those reality shows :yeahthat ;) TV Observer 101 05-25-2004, 03:51 PM Family Ties Cheers Seinfeld Friends Frasier The Cosby Show Full House Roseanne The Andy Griffith Show Leave It To Beaver Dean Winchester 05-25-2004, 04:10 PM Everybody Loves Raymond (bores me to tears) American Idol (it's only a tv show guys.... yet the followers of the show simulate heart attacks when their favorite gets voted out... you actually thought they were the next superstar? Clay Aiken is huge, but has radio ever played him? Ruben and Kelly both did okay at first, but then people quickly got tired of them as well. If you're expecting the next Nirvana, or the next Beatles, or the next Elvis, or Michael Jackson, or Madonna, or Prince.... look elsewhere) Will And Grace (it was funny but it went downhill when the show started relying too much on guest-stars... and for a "groundbreaking show about gays", they didn't even give Will a boyfriend until season 5, while Grace slept around from the first season) All In The Family (it is a classic show, but I think it's more for the people who take Archie Bunker as a positive role model, forgetting that Carroll O'Connor himself was liberal and that the character of Archie was actually a satire of a racist white male. So many take the character seriously and look up to him and it turned me off to it) ER (it was good when it started out but the show has drifted far too off into fantasy. No hospital in North America gets bombed, shot up, attacked by terrorists and the sort, like which happens on this. There better be a good pension plan for the employees in there) 7th Heaven (the show is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too preachy for my taste) Full House (look at the evil it unleashed onto the world. Mary-Kate and Ashley were cute at 3, but do we need to still be putting up with them on the edge of 18?) every single reality show in existance EmoJoe 05-25-2004, 06:57 PM The Cosby Show- they make it seem like its the best show ever but, IMO, its not that great of a show. The jokes werent funny and Claire was very annoying and snobby. Cheers- everyone said wondeful things about this show, so I watched it when it first came to TV Land, and I HATED it. IMO, it was boring, dull, and unfunny. Roseanne- I tried watching one episode and I couldn't bare it. It was so rude, crude, and nasty I HAD to turn it off. Will & Grace- I cant stand this show. Too many crude jokes. ANY Reality Show Besides American Idol- Reality shows are STUPID. barwars 05-25-2004, 07:40 PM Friends -- Ive recently become a fan of the show, but its definately not "the best comedy ever" I Love Lucy -- Its a great series, but if it weren't the first series to use the 3-camera-studio-audience format, would it be this well remembered?? They are just far too violent for my tastes. I don't mind some violence, but not on those levels. I also never cared for the CSI and Law & Order shows. Silver Bullet 05-26-2004, 12:35 PM NYPD Blue Frasier Friends Smallville Will & Grace CSI Thrid Watch ER Bernie Mac TJL 05-26-2004, 12:55 PM I just saw a poster on the side of a bus advertizing this show when it switched to the Oxygen Network. Absolutly Fabulous, or "Ab Fab" for the uninitiated. I never saw the appeal of this show, yet when this show hit the American airwaves on Comedy Central, the media were treating it as the funniest British comedy ever broadcast in the U.S. barwars 05-26-2004, 06:37 PM Originally posted by AKA You're allowed to say "sex" on the boards, you know. Yes, it gave us Clay, but it still sucks rocks. Friends Sex and the City puke: Sopranos Will and Grace & the guest star of the week The Apprentice Fear Factor CSI Everybody Loves Raymond...recently anyway. It used to be hilarious Family Feud since 99. Not a humongous hit, but it's been around a lot longer than I thought it would for a show that sucks more than a black hole. And that's just the recent stuff. Dean Winchester 05-27-2004, 03:30 PM Originally posted by dawsongirl Will and Grace & the guest star of the week  can they actually do an episode now that just centers around Will, Grace, Jack and Karen? every single week for the past 2-3 seasons, they've had some sort of guest star. The only thing that I find funny is that some people are still offended (well, not on this thread, but I've seen posts) by that show because of the sexual orientation of Will and Jack, when IMO, W&G is probably as safe than Full House was 10 years ago EmoJoe 05-27-2004, 04:36 PM Originally posted by SBTB Geek LOL @ someone calling "Will & Grace," and "Roseanne" crude. The only real difference between W&G and Friends is that the men on Friends are straight, and even then, there were 100's of "Chandler is gay" jokes during the run of Friends. But gayness aside, why would someone let their kid watch Friends and not Will And Grace? I could understand a parent not allowing their kid to watch Queer As Folk, but W&G is hardly offensive to anyone besides prudish types who already thought shows like Friends and Sex And The City were evil and vile. barwars 05-28-2004, 09:43 PM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 well, she said she's in the 6th grade, so it's not as bad as if she was in high school. Dean Winchester 05-28-2004, 10:46 PM Originally posted by FamilyTiesGOP I cannot believe TBS is even attempting to show that show. I'm shocked and disappointed. Sex And The City was a GREAT series. Sarah Jessica Parker deserved the Emmys and Golden Globe's she won for the show. Yes, the show was vulgar, but it wasn't so out of the ballpark dirty that anyone who isn't offended by a show like Friends (which talks a lot about sex, but never shows it) would be apalled about it too. The show was more about celebrating friendship and being a single woman in your 30's in New York City. Of the four leads, only Kim Cattrall was really promiscuous PZelda 05-28-2004, 10:54 PM Originally posted by barwars88 woah woah woah let me get this straight.... you like zelda you like mama's family/carol burnett show you like cheers AND you like gilda radner?! is it legal to have such good taste?! Bingo! :winkgrin I was introduced to Gilda in the summer of 2002, when E! started airing reruns of SNL from the 70's. God, she's the BEST comedian. No argument about that. :D Dean Winchester 05-28-2004, 10:54 PM to me, S&TC is probably more or less, "The Golden Girls : Thirty Years Earlier". The show is vulgar, and not for children, but the heart of the show is the friendship between the four women. No matter what happens in each of their personal lives, they will always be there for each other. All of them matured and grew as people as the show progressed, by the end of the run, Miranda went from a cynical manhating businesswoman to a loving wife and mother. Carrie realized she needed to stop chasing love and let love find her. and Charlotte stopped being so picky about how she expected Mr. Right to be a tall dark handsome stranger when she realized "the one" for her was a short, bald guy who loved her like no other. Samantha was a slut for 90% of the series, but when the cancer storyline hit, you finally saw an emotional growth to her that was missing with her personality before then. Plus, you have to give Kim Cattrall credit, she proved you could be in your late 40's and STILL be considered as sexy as girls who could be your daughter. I am very curious about how TBS is going to air it tho, because it does have some very strong language, and in some episodes, the character Samantha will have to be digitally removed. She's quite a slut, lol dawsongirl 05-28-2004, 11:01 PM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 Of the four leads, only Kim Cattrall was really promiscuous Kim Catrall is her character in real life...a whore.
