View Full Version : Can anyone tell me what's wrong with this?

You know, if the writers of the website don't know anymore about the cast and characters than this, then maybe that's what's wrong with the show... Can anyone point out what's wrong Jinny Exstead's Bio on Lifetime?

Name: Jinny Exstead

Played by: Nancy McKeon

Age: 30s

Occupation: Policewoman

Ambition: "I want a lot less drama in my life! After years of living on the edge with my girls-just-want-to-have-fun attitude, I want things to be simpler. I'm hoping to settle down a bit and maybe even find the right man."

Motive: Jinny became a cop because it's the family line of work. The only girl in her clan, she enjoys proving that policing is not just a man's job.

In a word: Former wild child

Fun fact: Jinny is a black belt in karate.

Jinny, a tomboy of sorts, is the daughter of a policeman and has three cop brothers. Police work is in her blood, and she enjoys the rush and challenges of the profession. However, she can be impulsive and self-assured to a fault — and her partying ways don't always help her job performance.

In her personal life, Jinny is battling some pretty formidable demons: She is dealing with her psychic pain by drinking too much and sleeping around with strangers. She is, by nature, friendly and fun-loving, a loyal friend.

Nate is still CD's partner, though CD's bio has disappeared, and Kate is still dating the ADA, from first season, according to her bio, and Magda, it says she "belts out tunes in the mornings as she gets ready for work... I apparently missed that episode.

*shakes head sorrowfully*

Seriously now, I could write better bios than that... and have!

I guess belting out tunes means listening to them. That happened in ONE episode...The Pilot. Otherwise she hasn't been belting out anything besides telling Benjamin to get ready for school!

Nancy McKeon

Good news for Nancy McKeon fans. Nancy is to co-star with Bonnie Bedalia in a new dramatic series for Lifetime beginning in January. The show is called "City Lights," and it's about female police detectives in San Francisco. Nancy's character is described as," A hard-drinking, flawed, single mother, with a troubled teenage daughter." "Single," "San Francisco." 'Sounds good so far. Article says the show focuses on a group of five female detectives. What's the odds that out of five, at least one could be gay?

the subject was domestic violence. Based on a true story of a woman who sued the police for failing to respond to her repeated pleas for protection from her abusive husband.

Nancy McKeon is the most underrated actors on tv. Good to know I'm not the only woman hooked on Facts of Life reruns just to watch Jo. It was a really bad show, but who cares? Has anyone seen Teresa's Tattoo? I just heard about it. Who does McKeon play in it?

Well, I was hooked on Facts of Life too. I liked the show. It was funny, in a way. I definitely liked Jo and wondered if her character was based at all on "Jo" from the book Little Women by Louise May Alcott.

Pardon my ignorance, but is Nancy McKeon gay? And if she is, has she come out?

This is her ambition? No, "I want to move up in my career!"?

*sigh* It's a DRAMA. It's on LIFETIME. There is no way she will have less drama in her life. *sigh again*

Usually when a person wants less drama they end up getting more.

I think maybe they mixed up her old regular Nancy McKeon ambition with her new Jinny Exstead ambition they out down. Because I once read in an interview in September that she wanted to settle down and take a break from all the drama for a little while. She wants to spend time with her new former husband and her baby to be. I dont know but i think thats it. x0x0Jessie:talk:

I hope to god Jinny/Nancy doesn't decide to leave the show for good. That would ruin the show.

Another thing wrong with that bio is that it says that Jinny is a black belt in karate. Now, I know that Nancy is great at martial arts, and that Jinny has kicked some butt on the show, but have they ever mentioned Jinny being a black belt? If they did, I sure missed it!

Actually I think they have mentioned it. But it was way back in first season and they aren't focusing on it... which sucks. But yeah, she put her "uniform" thingy on and went to a gym or something and worked out once... her belt was black.

But anyways...

In that episode, i thought that the whole karatee scene didn't realy fit in.

Oh, OK, I didn't remember that. If I saw it, it didn't stick in my memory. They should have her do some more with karate. That would be cool.
