Sitcomwriter 05-23-2004, 05:31 PM Mean Girls- One of the better teen films of recent years
Hope Springs- A cute romantic comedy with Colin Firth.
Love Actually- A romantic and often hilarious comedy with Hugh Grant, Emma Thompson, Kiera Knightley and Billy Bob Thorton, among others.
The Royal Tenenbaums- A feel-good movie IMO. Kind of slow but good.
Lost in Translation- Slow-moving but warm and romantic comedy.
Scenes from a Mall- Woody Allen and Bette Midler star. 'Nuff said.

  You definately should - I don't know of anyone that has seen this movie and not loved it.
webuster 05-24-2004, 02:17 PM 'Scenes from a Mall' is another film I've wanted to see- I've never seen a Woody Allen movie, plus I think Bette Midler's great! Need to find a copy. I've seen loads of recommendations to watch 'when harry met sally' before- it was on a few nights ago and I missed most of it- need to see it too. Anywho, my recommendations are:
Waking Life
The Stepford Wives
Rope
Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf?
Ruthless People
Donnie Darko
Dogville
Little Shop of Horrors
Maybe we should start threads for 'movies depending on what mood you're in'- considering some movies are really uplifting and others make you loathe everything.

You sure like John Cusack movies
All the movies mentioned (that I've seen) are good, except Donnie Darko. It's highly depressing. At least it was to me. Everyone I know LOVES it, but I found it to be HEAVILY depressing and it weighed me down and I wasn't myself for 3 days.
