Are they always rivals... I caught a scene today and Dorian was consoling Vicki on an operation she was going to have.

The Viki/Dorian relathionship is a very complex and flawed one. Sometimes they hate each other, sometimes they like each other. See Dorian was once Viki's STEP-Mother and for years Viki thought and accussed (wrongly) that Dorian had killed, Vicotr Lord, Viki's father, whom Dorian was married to. Viki thought it was Dorian, when in reality it was Viki, as one of her alters, i believe Tommy, but i'm not sure. Earlier this year Viki and dorian were caught in a life/death situation when they were stranded on a frozen mountain after a plane crash. Since then they have seemed to patch things up, but i wouldn't bet that it will last, this is Viki and Dorian and things have a way of going back to hate at the drop of a dime.
