I also liked the schedule when Family Ties and Cheers were at 11 and 11:30pm. The best N@N schedule was when Cheers came on at 10pm and Family Ties had a nicer time slot. N@N went straight to hell in a handbasket with the addition of The Cosby Show. And that would have been fine it N@N hadn't decided to worship it like they have. Dean Winchester 05-22-2004, 05:48 PM my fave N@N was early 2001. Facts Of Life, Diff'rent Strokes, Laverne And Shirley, Brady Bunch it went straight to hell when Cosby joined though dawsongirl 05-22-2004, 06:20 PM I'll go back and look later, but Nick at Nite in the 80s was the best. I don't get it - The Wonder Years is certainly a so-called "modern TV classic." Why don't you have anything against it? James 05-23-2004, 12:41 AM Originally posted by AKA I don't get it - The Wonder Years is certainly a so-called "modern TV classic." Why don't you have anything against it? The Wonder Years showed life in a simpler time in comparison to the present era (1968-73 vs. 1988-93). It is a major exception to my "modern TV classic" rule! That reminds me, a version of "Unforgettable" by Nat "King" Cole was re-released in 1991 with daughter Natalie's voice accompanying it, thirty-nine years after the original version (which, oddly enough, was used in an episode of The Wonder Years). It is a popular selection of nostalgia radio stations. JT 05-23-2004, 12:43 AM NAN: Late 2000/early 2001. FOL and TC were there, and various 80s shows such as Silver Spoons, 227, ALF, Diffrent Strokes and Square Pegs alternated on Sundays. TVLand: June 2002. Lots of rare greatness. The last truly magnificant TVLand sked, imo. And plus, it introduced me to Mary Hartman! AKA 05-23-2004, 12:44 AM So by that logic, oldies stations should be playing JXL's remix of Elvis' "A Little Less Conversation" and Oliver Beene and American Dreams would be welcome additions to TV Land/Nick At Nite. benjamoon 05-23-2004, 10:34 PM TV Land: The Summer 2003 Schedule ---- It was a dream to see Bewitched or I Dream of Jeannie back on TV and 4 times a day at that! Overnights brought more fun with Batman and Superman Nick at Nite: TIE: The Summer 1995 Schedule and The Summer 1998 Schedule Summer 1995: ---- My first Block Party Summer memory: Munster Monday, Lucy Tuesday, Bewitched BeWednesday, Jeannie Thursday, and Kotter Friday. It gives me a nostalgic feel and it's a great schedule Summer 1998: ---- Lucy Sundays, Laverne & Shirley Mondays, Brady Tuesdays, Wonder Years Wednesdays, Happy Days Thursdays, and (grrr) Rugrats Fridays. JT 05-24-2004, 03:50 PM Originally posted by Jen1989 Why do you persist in posting threads like this? We all know that you hate TVLand's choice to add Family Ties and Cheers. You've made that quite clear. How many times must you shove your nonsense down our throats? Enough already! OK, he didn't even mention Cheers or Family Ties in either of his posts. You are being SO extremely paranoid till it isn't even funny. Get over your nonsense and leave it all alone. If you have a problem with LucyFan, put him on your ignore list and you won't be annoyed by his "nonsense." You did the same thing in the thread about the Hallmark Channel and I thought it was stupid then too. You need to get a life and stop picking fights. barwars 05-24-2004, 03:57 PM maybe its just me.... but I though LucyFan was a girl. TVJunkie101 05-24-2004, 04:31 PM I thought LucyFan was a girl too... LOL. But please, let's not turn this into a war of classic vs. "non-classic." It's getting really old having that discussion time and time again. This was a pretty good topic, but it also lead the way for yet another debate. We can banter back and forth on what is a classic and what isn't. I love Family Ties and like Cheers, it doesn't bother me at all TV Land added them. My personal gripe is I just don't want to lose the classics, but at the same time, as years go on, we get more oldies and they deserve a place too... Honestly, I wish TV Land could just make an all 80s network and be done with it. Nick @ Nite can continue being TBS 2 (as it always was, just look at the old schedules: Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore, Brady Bunch, Lucy, all of them were on TBS before N@N!). I'm not directing this at anyone in particular, but enough is enough. I'm so fed up with the endless arguments about what is a classic and what isn't. Both I Love Lucy and Family Ties are classics in their own. N@N started this with their "Modern Classics" mantra. All shows that last 5 seasons or more and are honored and stand the test of time, to me, it means a classic. Cheers was, and still is, wildly popular. Family Ties to a lesser extent, but to me, FT belongs more on TV Land than Cheers does. I think Cheers could have stuck around N@N for another year or two before going to TV Land, but that's just my opinion. People get so worked up over someone's OPINION! Each individual here has a right to their OPINION. So if LucyFan says 80s tv sucks, let him/her. Just IGNORE THEM! Get over it. And Same goes to LucyFan. I LOVE I Love Lucy, but I don't make a fuss when someone disses it or doesn't like it. The fact is, GET OVER IT. We all have our own preferences. I mean, I think we all would start griping if TV Land started airing Fresh Prince and Full House. The fact is, I think Family Ties fits better on TV Land than it ever did on N@N. Cheers: it either needs to stick to N@N or TV Land. I've ALWAYS hated when a show airs on several networks at a time, it's not just Cheers (which I do enjoy; and I have the episodes I taped to prove it.) And I also agree with Jen1989. LucyFan, you've made it quite clear on numerous occasions you do not like the fact that TV Land has added Cheers and Family Ties. Well, the fact is, they did, and we can't change it, so just move on. Stop dwelling on it. And the fact of the matter is, we can't all be happy. Am I thrilled Wings airs at such a crappy time on N@N? No, but do I fester about it and dwell about it? No, I live with it and move on. So what if Family Ties airs from 1-2am every night on TV Land? At least it's ON. I guess I'm just tired of the nitpicking. Just tape it. Simple as that. Family Ties, as much as I adore it, has never gotten the ratings it once had in syndication. TBS aired it at lousy times, and so did N@N. That means it's just not getting the desired audience. I Love Lucy isn't either! I think we all need to just suck it up and live with it. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but constantly fighting over something as silly as tv schedules is not worth it. David 05-24-2004, 04:33 PM i liked the schedule Nick at Nite had summer 2001 w/ Different Strokes on one night, Brady Bunch on one night, Three's Company on one night, etc. EmoJoe 05-24-2004, 04:48 PM Originally posted by FamilyTiesGOP I like the current TV Land schedule if they would stop all the changes and the very annoying 48 hour marathons.
