What a mess. They are in the year 1959 in the 78-79 season and jump 5 years in the future to 1965 in the 80-81 season. Biggest Inconsistency of the Series.

View Full Version : 1967 was the time period in the last season of L&S-LOL TVFactFan 05-22-2004, 02:21 PM What a mess. The year-switch was pretty jarring. In the first three season, the cast looked era-appropriate: they dressed like they were in the early sixties and had the right hairdos. But in the last Milwaukee season they looked more seventies than sixties, and in California it seemed like they stopped trying to look retro at all! Which still makes 1967 impossible because 1978-60 1979-61 1980-62 1981-63 1982-64 1983-65 Skywalker 05-29-2004, 07:02 PM I remember watching an episode from the first season of L&S being in CA and I forget who said it, Lenny or Squiggy, but one of them said something about it's been a couple of years since we were in Milwaukee. So they skipped a couple of years once they moved to California. Wizzy 06-02-2004, 05:35 PM Squiggy said in the "Malibu Mansion' episode I think it's been years since we drove a brewery truck. how weird...the writers not only moved show to California but they also jumped ahead to "happy new year 1965" in the opening credits The first year in California is pretty strong ( 1980-81 ) Cindy as Shirley is doing great work, keeping the Feenster as silly as ever. The TRUTH game show is excellent and " I DO, I DO " is fun to see L&S unaware of cocaine on a mirror (Laverne flungs it aside to look in hand mirror) and Squiggy paranoid from pot smoke (reefer gas!!) is hysterical. |
