View Full Version : TV's most Romantic Married Couple mstewart 05-22-2004, 11:05 AM Who is the most romantic married couple on TV??? Could be past or present. mstewart 05-22-2004, 11:14 AM Out of the poll I pick three right off the bat: Rob & Laura Petrie - The Dick Van Dyke Show (Given those two slept in twin beds but you know there was hot and heavy romance between those two) Steven & Elyse Keaton - Family Ties (Here is a couple who is in their late 30's into their 40's and still madly in love with each other) Cliff & Clair Huxtable - The Cosby Show (Their scenes together are warm and genuine. You can tell those two are in love with each other and they keep their romance alive) dlemond 05-22-2004, 11:22 AM Originally posted by mstewart Out of the poll I pick three right off the bat: Rob & Laura Petrie - The Dick Van Dyke Show (Given those two slept in twin beds but you know there was hot and heavy romance between those two) Steven & Elyse Keaton - Family Ties (Here is a couple who is in their late 30's into their 40's and still madly in love with each other) Cliff & Clair Huxtable - The Cosby Show (Their scenes together are warm and genuine. She is a total witch all the time (besides the kids, even dictating what Cliff can do) that I cannot believe that Cliff would love her but for the fact she is a lot younger. Dean Winchester 05-23-2004, 01:28 AM I'm shocked Paul and Jamie Buckman (Mad About You) was left out spunkygirl 05-23-2004, 08:19 PM of your list Rob and Laura Petrie, but I would also say Amy and Alan Matthews on Boy Meets World, were a true couple you could tell would always be in love and crazy about each other, they were very romantic :) barwars 05-23-2004, 09:35 PM Originally posted by mstewart Out of the poll I pick three right off the bat: Rob & Laura Petrie - The Dick Van Dyke Show (Given those two slept in twin beds but you know there was hot and heavy romance between those two) Steven & Elyse Keaton - Family Ties (Here is a couple who is in their late 30's into their 40's and still madly in love with each other) Cliff & Clair Huxtable - The Cosby Show (Their scenes together are warm and genuine. Kristen 06-07-2004, 11:07 PM From the list, Rob and Laura Petrie. Sure, they slept in twin beds, but we know they had sex! ;) How else did Richie get here? I think Maxwell Sheffield and Fran Fine-Sheffield from "The Nanny" also deserve mention. I know they don't start off married, but even while they were, you could see they were attracted to each other. JMO. Kristen sitcomfan1 06-08-2004, 07:37 AM I picked Samantha and Darrin cause I'm a big fan of the show. Second would be Lucy and Ricky. rossnrach4ever 05-11-2005, 06:39 PM Married... She was the ONLY person in the world he liked (he tolerated his girls). Robert Barone (Everybody Loves Raymond) and Stefania Oliver Wendell Douglas and Lisa Heenan Fan 02-14-2019, 09:46 PM I agree with the earlier post about Paul and Martha Simms (Paul Lynde Show). She was the ONLY person in the world he liked (he tolerated his girls). ;) treky 02-15-2019, 01:16 AM Rob & Laura Petrie Bonniegirl 02-15-2019, 01:21 AM What about Sue Ann Nivens and Lou Grant? Seriously, Joe and Rhoda Gerard Vint and Naomi Harper (Mama's Family) Oh yes!!!! Vint and Naomi were VERY romantic!!! :) They should be in the poll!! ;) Tubehead 02-15-2019, 08:57 AM my top pick are jackie gleason as ralph kramden & Audrey Meadows as ALice kramden form the hooney mooners Ricky and Lucy Ricardo form i love lucy amy adams & matthew adams form boy meets world secret agent maxwell smart & agent 99 form get smart the original tv series Marion Cunningham & howard Cunningham form happy days tim & jill form home inmprovment Rob & Laura Petrie form dick van dyke George & Louise Jefferson Steven & Elyse Keaton form family ties Bonniegirl 02-15-2019, 09:03 AM Yes! And Also Ross and Rachel! ;) Another sweet romantic couple were Julie and Jonathan from Gimme a break! ;) From the list I voted Betty Joe and Steve! Honorable mention for Lucy and Ricky and Samantha and Darrin ! :) Oh , I also meant to honorable mention Carol & Mike Brady ! ;) Samme 02-15-2019, 08:19 PM I usually vote for Rob and Laura in anything like this, but this time I went with Ward and June. It's interesting to watch their chemistry. They're continually being kind to each other, yet often gently teasing the other to keeping a spark alive. They genuinely like and respect each other and work together. Yet it's all low key and they never put on a big display of anything. But it's so often there, and so nicely done, that's it's fun to watch. Heenan Fan 02-16-2019, 03:32 AM Cliff & Clair Especially after a couple mickeys.:( KRW 02-26-2019, 08:14 PM Oliver Wendell & Lisa Douglas (Green Acres) andress_jade 04-10-2019, 03:06 AM I can't believe you made a poll of the most romantic married couples and didn't include Jason and Maggie Seaver! They met when they were teenagers, eloped, almost divorced, got back together, had four kids and their love and passion for each other was just as strong as when they first met. People that watched the show honestly believed that Alan Thicke and Joanna Kerns were a couple in real life because of their amazing onscreen chemistry with each other. They weren't a couple in real life but had an incredible real life friendship that came across onscreen which made their characters so real. I've never seen a more believable and passionate couple than these two. They bickered and teased each other like married people do but adored each other and couldn't get enough of each other. The fact that they had been married for over a decade, and had four kids didn't even matter to them, they still loved each other deeply. AB 04-10-2019, 06:30 PM I pick Gomez & Morticia of The Addams Family even though they are not on the list. MA 04-10-2019, 06:32 PM Herman and Lily Munster from The Munsters. treky 04-11-2019, 12:57 AM I pick Rob & Laura Petrie (PEEtrie which was their last name in the pilot, then Dick suggested that "Petrie" might be easier for people to remember) Even though they slept in twin beds (which were mandatory at the time) you knew they did more in bed than just sleep:lol:after all, they had a son!!! Also, I'd also vote for Paul & Jamie Buchmann; even though they're not listed. |
