They are showing two hours of The Odd Couple tonight in honor of Tony Randall. I must confess that when I heard about his passing that I was thinking that it would be nice to see the show again. Thank you TVLand.

I'm not so pleased with TV Land in general lately and, while it was good to see The Odd Couple again, I have one quibble with this tribute:

It was three hours long, but the first two were opposite the season finales of CSI and Without a Trace on CBS. If they were going to do a real tribute, I'd have liked to have seen something better planned and at a time when more people would be likely to watch. They suspended programming when the Friends finale aired on NBC a couple of weeks ago, but they couldn't give a little more consideration to the passing of a beloved TV/film legend?

I suppose we should be grateful that TV Land showed any episodes at all. It's just sad that someone had to die before they'd preempt some of the "classics" they've been running lately to allow us a brief glimpse of a true classic once again.
