Friends jumped the shark?

check out other boards such as Roseanne, Facts Of Life, Family Ties, Diff'rent Strokes, Sex And The City and Cosby where the same question is asked

I voted never jumped, because even lame seasons like 7 and 9 had their share of good episodes too

I vote never jumped. For me, a show has to be unwatchable for it to jump the shark.

It definately never jumped. I think every season is hysterical, even though some are better then others.

I have a question, how did Joey officially become an idiot in season 7?

that was when it became obvious that he had gone from "young and naive" to "why won't they put any sense into him".

Season 7

Mostly because of Chandler and Monica but the dumbing down of Joey was also irksome. It actually kinda started in season 6 but them getting married was the final straw. Season 6 has some good episodes but when Chandler and Monica moved in together, neither character was quite the same. Chandler became less sarcastic and more wimpy. Monica became screechy. Not to mention that it broke up the Chandler-Joey duo. Those two were just so funny as roommates.

Even though Friends wasn't quite as good in the later seasons, I still watched every episode. I love the show and it was better that most of the shows on tv these days (reality shows, I'm looking at you).

I was upset when they started the Rachel and Joey thing. It's a really lame ploy. I always has this fear that everybody in the group would end up sleeping with or falling for each other. Why can't they just be friends - why all this coupling?I hated that. I had this fear that, after Chandler and Monica got together, the writers would make Phoebe and Joey get together. I was so glad they didn't do that and that Rachel and Joey never actually happened.
