MilknPepsiGirl 05-20-2004, 04:34 PM OMG!
im so happy. i never thought it would ever come out!!!!!!!!!!!! YAY thanks for the info! :)
I doubt I'd ever buy L&S's first season...definitely the weakest season, with rather dumb, wordy situations rather than slapstick...this show didn't get good until 77 IMO...
Chain Gang Member 05-23-2004, 03:01 PM Will it include episodes where they were on Happy Days in the extras?

As much as I love Laverne & Shirley, I won't buy the first season set of the show if the cost is over $15 dollars. 15 episodes for 50 bucks is outrageous, if you ask me. The price needs to fit the quantity before I will buy it.

It's actually retailing for $39.95, which means you can probably get it for $25-30 online.

I'm sure the price will be lower than $50 by the time it is released, but $15 is being rather cheap. Most places seem to have deals during the first week it's released.

Moondance 06-01-2004, 02:29 PM I don't understand how a season that has 15 episodes could be $50! Cheers isn't even that much and they had more eppies.

algebra74 06-02-2004, 06:07 PM I was wondering if someone would post the cover art for this relase on this board. Everytime I go to TVShowsonDVD.com, the pictures are always blocked out, for some reason. Also, any word on whether or not this will be a good set with plenty of extras, considering both Penny Marshall and Cindy Williams are still around to provide commentary tracks, or whether this will be a bare-bones set released strictly to make the producers money?
tiff7 06-03-2004, 01:44 PM & interviews w/the cast & bios of Penny, Cindy, Eddie Mekka (Carmine), Michael McKean, David Lander, Betty Garrett & a tribute 2 Phil Foster. Plus what the cast is doing now) :) Algebra74, they have the cover art on SitcomsOnline.com! Just search the site til u find it! I wud post it but I haven't added the pic 2 my desktop yet-my computer wouldn't let me!

algebra74 06-03-2004, 01:55 PM It seems that they will be including some extras, due to the fact that they are spreading 15 episodes over three discs, when they most easily could have spread 15 episodes over only two discs. This fact leads me to believe that extras will be included. However, this may simply be a method to jack up the price. (Consumers would never pay the 39.99 SRP that they are asking for this set, if the set had only 2 discs).

vashti1999 08-02-2004, 11:37 PM Does anyone remember what episode/season it was where Laverne thought she was pregnant and Lenny proposed marriage to her so that the child would have a father?

That's Episode 21 from season 2 titled "Look Before You Leap". I always thought that episode was rather dull. If I recall correctly, it's one of the few L&S episodes that didn't have any physical comedy. Hope this helps Vashti :D

Yes that helps. Actually the reason I always remembered this episode is because of the tenderness of that scene where Lenny was shyly making the offer to Laverne. I remember that being a really sweet moment that I always liked.

I'm very impressed with the L&S set!! Even though we didn't get any extras, the set is still awesome. They put a lot of work into the packaging. I love how they put each disc in a separate case and the detailed episode descriptions!

Heidi Dawn 08-21-2004, 09:23 AM I picked up my Laverne & Shirley dvd set the other day, I picked up Happy Days at the same time. I bought them both at Wal-Mart! I loved watching Laverne & Shirley and Happy Days reruns as a young girl. I haven't seen L&S reruns since 1999.
Moondance 08-21-2004, 02:26 PM I hope that Season 2 will have extra features...I believe season 1 only had about 15 episodes...
I went to Wal-Mart the other night looking for L&S and HD and they weren't there so I'll just have to check Circuit City.
