I'll name a sitcom, then we all "Appreciate" it for a while. Then I move to a different sitcom. Of course, once I move to another show, you can still go back and talk about one of the past shows.

**My Thoughts**
This show is a pure classic and I have very fond memories watching it on Nick at Nite in the mid 90's. This is one of the rare shows that stayed funny throughout it's entire run. I can't wait to buy all five seasons on DVD!

My favorite episode is from season 2. "Elaine's Secret Admirer". That's the one where someone from the cab company keeps writing Elaine love letters. It turns out to be from Jim, although he's not in love with her, he just wanted to make her happy. The final scene was great. Jim builds Elaine a castle using parts from his van.

Jim: "I know I'm not every woman's dream boat."

That was a classic moment, one of the funniest in any sitcom.:lol:

I love Taxi too. The driving test scene is one of the funniest things I've ever seen :lol: I wish we could go back to having well-written sitcoms like Taxi, Cheers, and Wings.

Jim: "I don't know what's right, I don't know what's wrong - I don't even know what's going on." :lol:


The one when Jim keeps a horse in his apartment is another of my favorites.

"What does the yellow light mean??"
is without a doubt, the FUNNIEST scene of any TV show EVER.

"Taxi" isnt necessarily my favorite show of all time (although its up there).... but I cant think of any scene that made me laugh as hard as this one.

Definately a classic.
It ended far too soon.

This was a very entertaining show about working class people. Louie was the most entertaining one on the show by far. He always wore the same suit and the same pink shirt in every episode.

The most memorable episodes are the 2 parter where Simka has to have sex with one of Latka's co-workers, the one where Louie builds the fallout shelter and the one where Louie pushes the old woman down the stairs in the courthouse.

Another classic series. The death of Tony Randall got me back into this show and sadly it's not yet on DVD. The first season was filmed without an audience and wasn't as funny. Then in season 2, they got a new apartment and an audience. Jack and Tony put more of themselves into their roles and the show became one of the funniest out there.

I love the series finale. After five years, Felix remarried Gloria and moved out. I loved it when, after Felix and Gloria kissed, Oscar started shouting "I'm free, I'm free!" It really got to me. I kind of wish Oscar had found somebody, but then again he seemed to enjoy living on his own.

Also did anyone notice that in the beginning of the show, Murray was Oscar's friend. But by the end, he seemed more like Felix's friend.

Very funny show. I wish TV Land would add it to the regular everyday lineup. I would watch it. That episode they showed last night about Felix scalping tickets and being his own lawyer and getting arrested was hilarious. :lol:

Ahh.... The Odd Couple, one of the smartest sitcoms of all time.
Gary Marshall's crowning achievement.
Tony Randall and Jack Klugman made the characters their own.

One of the very few series that never had the chance to jump the shark.

The Odd Couple is one of my favorites (along with Taxi, which you mentioned first).

The way the Jack Klugman and Tony Randall took their roles and made them their own (beyond the movie) just made the show.
Besides the writing being excellent as well.

I don't know of another twosome beyond Ricky and Lucy that were ever as good together.

Odd Couple is a very entertaining sitcom. Hard to believe Tony Randall was already 50 years old when this started. He was very nimble. The two actors had some of the best chemistry of any two leads in a sitcom. I like Felix's fear of flying, the one where Oscar is sleepwalking and keeps hitting Felix with the rolled up newpaper (I don't like pits, pits, pits in my juice, juice, juice), Felix's day in court, two on the aisle and more. Every episode probably has at least one very fun scene. :)

Another classic sitcom, I used to watch on TBS back when I was very young. I remember wishing it was on the air again, but it wasn't until 1995. That's when Nick at Nite added it to their Block Party Summer lineup.

I prefer the original Marilyn.

On cast lists, it says "Grandpa Munster" and "Marilyn Munster." However, Grandpa is Lily's father. So his last name wouldn't be "Munster." Marilyn is Lily's sister's daughter. So her last name wouldn't be "Munster" either. That's why I didn't put their last names on my cast list.

Fred Gwynne was PERFECT in the role of Herman. It's just a shame he didn't want to be known as Herman. I heard that in the 1980's reunion movie, he didn't want to do it. So he said he would do it for a great big amount of money, thinking they'd say "No way." When they agreed to it, Fred went ahead and did the movie.

The Munsters was ok. I think I like it better than The Addams Family.

Anyway, The Odd Couple was never my favorite show but for some reason, right after Tony Randall died, I decided "Hey! Why don't Matthew (my brother) and I do are own version of this show?" and yesterday, we did. We taped it on a camcorder with my brother playing Oscar and me playing Felix. It was completely improvised. We liked it so much that we plan on a doing another episode today!

Suprisingly, its actually a pretty smart show.
Rather than taking the easy way (cough*Addam'sFamily*cough) The Munsters didn't know they were "eccentric".
This caused for many more laughs -- and didn't make them as sadistic as the Addam's Family.
A great sitcom.

Funniest freakin sitcom ever. And the chemistry between Tony and Jack was priceless. The show would have suffered with two dufferent guys in the lead.

It's no wonder why this show has done so well over the years. The show is truly a piece of art. I have always considered The Munsters to be one of the greatest shows ever created. My favorite episode of this series is "Zombo".

Munsters and The Odd Couple are also funny shows. I wish I could see more of them, especially The Odd Couple.
