At TV Tome.com (http://www.tvtome.com), it says Charmed signed a contract for a 2-year renewal. This means that Charmed will have 8 seasons, I think.

No it doesn't. If the ratings bomb next season there won't be a season 8. But they have signed the cast on until season 8. So if there is a season 8 you will see the whole cast there.

if the ratings bomb next season, WB is still contracted to air season 8, tho they'd probably wait until the summer if it bombs. This happened twice on ABC, with The Drew Carey Show and with Perfect Strangers. ABC signed both series for 2 more seasons, yet the ratings for both declined dramatically in the second to last episode, so ABC burned off the remaining episodes of each during the summer hiatus (the last Drew Carey episodes will air this summer). So even if Charmed does a drastic dip in the ratings next season, we will still see a season 8, even if it's not in the conventional sense.

I think it'll last tho. Look how long 7th Heaven has been on, and they're still going strong for WB, Charmed has a bigger cult following than 7th Heaven can dream of.

as long as all three girls have signed on for season 8, then there's a lock on it. But if Alyssa or somebody hasn't signed yet, then it might not happen.

I remember in fall 2002, every cast member of Buffy signed on for season 8, except for Emma Caulfield, who said she'd leave at the end of the 02-03 season, and Sarah Michelle Gellar, who decided to "wait" before considering. And then towards the end of the season, she finally came out and said she wouldn't do another season, so that staked any chance of an 8th season because it was her show after all. So if all three sisters have signed for a season 8, then we'll be fine.

Just because its contracted doesn't mean it will air. Lois and Clark was contracted for a 5th season and ABC still canceled it. Still Charmed is still one of the WB's biggest hits so it will probably continue through an 8th season.

Only the Actresses and Actors have signed on until season 8 so far. The show hasn't been sign on with WB until season 8 yet only season 7.
