Which is his best album of the 1970s, in your opinion?

My top five:

1.) Madman Across The Water
2.) Honky Chateau
3.) Goodbye Yellow Brick Road
4.) Captain Fantastic And The Brown Dirt Cowboy (the John Lennon cameo on "Lucy In The Sky With Diamonds" is second to none)
5.) Don't Shoot Me, I'm Only The Piano Player

That song is only on the special edition CD from Rocket/Island,
not the original album release from MCA.

I know. Same with "Philadelphia Freedom" and the John Lennon cover "One Day (At A Time)." They're bonus tracks added in, I think, 1995(?).

I should have been more specific.

what is a "best of 70's Elton" list without Victim Of Love? That album was such a masterpiece, the music was more personal than Capt. Fantastic, rocked harder than Rock Of The Westies, was more groundbreaking than Goodbye Yellow Brick Road, etc.....

(you do know I'm joking, right? lol)

I pick Rock of the Westies. It has a gritty, crisp sound to it and some of Bernie Taupin's best lyrics. :)
