View Full Version : Favorite decade of Comedy
My favorite generation of comedies were the 1990s, and in particular the sitcoms on NBC. Back when I was in high school, just about all of my favorite shows (sans Simpsons) were on NBC: Frasier, Wings, NewsRadio, 3rd Rock from the Sun, Seinfeld, along with the ifrst few seasons of "Just Shoot Me," and an occasional "John Larroquette", or "Caroline in the City." Which really makes the passing of the "Frasier" show even more depressing as its the end of an era. You could also say the same thing about "Friends" ending, but I HATED that show. Since "3rd Rock" ended, "Frasier" was the ONLY show I routinely watched on NBC.
What is your favorite era of comedy: the 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s, 90s, or 00s?
LucyFan 05-19-2004, 12:01 AM My favorite decade of comedy is the 1960's because it had diverse group of comedies:
Workplace: "The Lucy Show" and "The Dick Van Dyke Show"
Rural: "Green Acres" and "The Andy Griffith Show"
Fantasy: "I Dream of Jeannie", "Bewitched", "The Munsters", "The Addams Family", "Mister Ed", and "Gilligan's Island"
Cute: "Dennis the Menace"
jamesanthony 05-19-2004, 08:53 AM For purely nostalgic reasons I vote for the mid 60s to early 70s (about 1964-74) just because the nation changed so dramatically during those years and it is reflected in what was on TV.
