Stormtracker TF 05-18-2004, 04:31 PM Originally posted by isiahthomas I know ya'll are being sarcastic but Abe Vigoda & Hillary Duff aren't rappers. Ok...Ok, we all know they're both Heavy Metal artists. Now Dana Elcar, there's a rapper. And a good one at that. isiahthomas 05-18-2004, 04:55 PM LOL@they're heavy metal artists hahahahahahahahahahaha. Who is Dana Elcar? Nevermind don't tell me. I don't like rock & roll anyway. Dean Winchester 05-19-2004, 03:55 AM Originally posted by isiahthomas LOL@they're heavy metal artists hahahahahahahahahahaha. Who is Dana Elcar? Nevermind don't tell me. I don't like rock & roll anyway. is not liking rock music any "better" than not liking hip hop? I personally am kinda glad this is a message board where 9 out of 10 people aren't going on and on about how great the new D12 album is, etc... I hear more than enough of it on MTV/MTV-2. The only mainstream hip hop act I actually can say I enjoy is Outkast. I'm not going to bash the underground stuff because I know a lot of the "unknown" stuff is a lot better than the crap that radio and MTV rams down our throat. Why do you have so many issues with people being white? I'm pretty sure there are some Hispanic and Asian posters in here too. Not everything is white and black. And why should it be "white vs. black"? I know a lot of white people who listen to nothing but rap and also know black people who are predominantly into rock. Learn to get along with others and you'll see we're not all that different. EmoJoe 05-19-2004, 06:22 PM I hate rap. In rap they dont sing, they talk. Rappers are people who want to sing but dont have a good voice so they rap instead. You phrased it in a way that seems like you are posting a fact. Read your post again... Rappers are people who want to sing but dont have a good voice so they rap instead. Read your post again... well, 9 out of 10 times when someone says something sucks, they never say "my opinion", they leave it to where it could be a factual statement. What Rurry said is no different than if she just said "rap sucks" and didn't follow it up with an "IMO" SBTB Geek 05-20-2004, 04:38 PM Originally posted by BuffySlayer79 well, 9 out of 10 times when someone says something sucks, they never say "my opinion", they leave it to where it could be a factual statement. Your opinion above shows you know nothing about the roots of rap and it's evolution. If you did, you'd know that they are not "talking" because they "can't sing." It's a different style of music, dudah. I can see this conversation will go no where. :seeya: Brian 05-20-2004, 07:10 PM Thread closed, please take it to private messages. |
