In the 1989 Batman movie, there is a scene where Michael Keaton
tosses one of Jack Nicholsons goons down the stairwell of a
cathedral. I forgot how that scene went, could someone please
refresh me?
Batman is duking it out with one of the Joker's henchman. He's big and strong, and is going punch for punch with the caped crusader. The bad guy pushes Batman over the edge of the bell tower. He peeks over the edge too see if Batman fell, and Batman's legs swing up from the edge, grabbing the bad guy by the neck. Batman slams the bad guy's head into the giant swinging bell, and then dumps him over the side, sending him into the abyss below.
Or something like that.
;)

Did the guy try to remove Batmans legs from his neck?

He grabbed Batman's legs, but it was no use. He got his head slammed into the bell anyway.
