Shelley and Tanya are probably the least-remembered Angels, as both only lasted a season, and the show started slipping.

Of the two, which did you like better?

I haven't seen either :( can't wait for DVD's

They were my 2 least favorite angels but I like Shelley Hack a little bit more. I think she was blamed to much for the ratings going down when I don't think anyone could replace Kate Jackson.

I'll have to go with Shelley Hack.

Shelley Hack ;she was also the only actress to be fired from the show...

Tanya Roberts looked more like an "Angel" than Shelley Hack but then Hack replaced Kate Jackson. It's a toss-up for me.

Tanya Roberts most definitely. Shelley Hack looked much older than Jacklyn and Cheryl.

Here is the order of the Angel combo which I like the best.

Kate-Jacklyn-Farrah
Kate-Jacklyn-Cheryl
Jacklyn-Cheryl-Tanya
Jacklyn-Cheryl-Shelley

I like Tanya Roberts, but I definitely preferred Shelley Hack.
Oddly enough, many of the episodes with Shelley are among my favorites from the entire series. Go figure.

These are also my two least favorites... I have to say Shelley Hack because I very strongly dislike her, whereas I loathe Tanya Roberts...but I refuse to recognize either of them as real angels.

I vote for Tanya Roberts she looked more like Kate Jackson and fit right into the Angel look. :)

Shelley Hack. I always thought she got the least to do of all 6 Angels, and feel she got a bum rap. She made several TV movies in the 1990s that I enjoyed.

I didn't think that either one of them fit in as an "Angel" but of the two I preferred Shelley Hack.

I didnt care for either but, at least Tonya was "hot", wheras Shelly looked like a 35 yr old woman, trying to pick up young guys in the mall, by wearing her daughters tube top and jeans. :barf:

Here is a more recent photo of her taken when she appeared on Oprah last year.

I'll go with Tanya. She was much more lively and likeable than the Tiffany character (probably no fault of Hack's). Plus she had the most gorgeous eyes. :)

I'm currently watching Season 4 and am really enjoying these episodes (I've never before seen most of the Shelley era). Shelley really did get a bum rap...the part was so underwritten that huge actresses of the time like Diane Keaton or Jane Fonda would've gotten the same flack for replacing Kate Jackson. Three of these episodes are bittersweet as this is the first time I've watched Farrah as Jill since she passed away.

Personality wise I'd go with Shelley but she seemed less athletic than all the other angels, I think that might have been a minus for her on an action show.

Maybe, but I think she held her own in Angel Hunt, which was a very action-filled episode.

Robert's role didn't serve her well. In the first few eps, she was a street wise somewhat harder edged character, but after that her character kind of became a bit generic. I think the same thing happened with Hack's character who was supposed to be a bit more sophisticated and "well bred", but within a few weeks her lines were indistinguishable from the other Angels.

Well, Tanya's character (Julie Rogers) was supposed to be the streetwise, wild hustler who was largely toned down after her first couple of episodes. Shelley's Tiffany Welles stayed elegant and New England bred all throughout her run, so at least hers was the more consistent character of the two.

WOW, I am surprised I knew this information, back then
I recently watched the 4th season of Charlie's Angels. To be honest, I really liked the Tiffany Wells character :)

I like them both, but I sort of see them as different types. I tend to think of Shelley as I do Nancy Stafford: Taken in by her overall beauty and pretty face -- where with Tanya, I'm impressed with her appeal that I can only describe as "sultry."

Watching the series as an adult, it crosses my mind many times that all of these women were as sexy as all get out -- while as a young person when the shows first ran, I was more selectively turned on. LOL -- just trying to be honest here!

Shelley AND Nancy Stafford do look alike, now that I think of it. Shelley is pretty much retired from show biz (even though she still does autograph shows and appeared on Oprah a while back). Nancy still acts, is married to a pastor and also writes Christian devotional books for women. I've read a couple of them - she's a very talented writer!

I like Tiffany, too.

Also, I really liked Tiffany's friendship with Bosley, Kelly, and Kris. In my opinion, I feel that Tiffany, Kris, and Kelly are the most believable as friends of all the Angel trios. I just really think they had more in common and complemented each other very well. I always felt that Kelly and Kris had the best duo/twosome friendship of all the Angels. There was always a sweetness with Kris and Kelly, and I felt that their friendship with Tiffany was sweet as well. I felt they both went out of their way to make Tiffany feel welcomed and included.......and I liked that. :)

Tiffany was sweet, intelligent, easygoing, laidback, classy, and elegant, and I felt that she, Kris, and Kelly would be friends even if they didn't work together.

I worked as a part time actress in the 90's. In 1994 I was cast in the play "Vanities" where I played the foul-mouthed but oh-so-funny Mary. My director gave me a copy of the 1984 broadway play and lo' and behold, Shelley Hack had played my part. Not only was she good, she was amazingly good and so funny I was doubled over everytime she said something crass. I didn't try to copy what she did but I took it and added a bit of me to the character and built on it. The play was a big success and I cfredit Shelley Hack for showing me the way. I also liked her on Charlies Angels and was angry when they replaced her; they never gave her a chance. It wasn't her fault the writers were lame and stupid. She deserves more credit than she gets and she is definately talented. Stupid writers.

I immediately began to wonder again (http://tellytalk.net/threads/appreciating-charlies-angels.2585/page-3) if Tanya Roberts was actually the "worst Angel" not Shelley Hack? With Tanya, it seemed to be painfully obvious that the producers were judging her credibility based solely on her physical appearance. And for as much grief as Shelley got for her acting on the show, it wasn't like Tanya was any better now wasn't she? It perhaps didn't help Tanya's cause that her character wasn't from the police academy, thus throwing the show's concept off-balance.

Tiffany was often aloof and other times downright haughty, and it's hard to warm up to a character like that so I get why many fans don't care for her. It doesn't help that the backstage gossip didn't exactly paint Shelley Hack in the best light.

Julie lost her edge after the first few episodes and Tanya had the misfortune of appearing in a season were everyone else was tired and the scripts were scraping the bottom of the barrel.

I vote for Tiffany because despite many clunkers that year, the show still had a handful of great episodes in Season 4 that many fans still remember and love.
