I've heard about this broadway show called 'Wicked'- which is about the lives of the wicked witch of the west and Glinda the Good Witch, up until the events of the wizard of oz (I also heard somewhere it also depicts 'The Wizard of Oz' from the witch's viewpoint). So, have any of you here seen the show, and is it any good? Looks very interesting...

I want to see it. I've been wanting to see it for awhile now because of the good reviews its gotten. I've heard some songs from it and they're also pretty good. And the story is very creative.

It's been nominated for 11 Tony Awards- they have an official site with loads of pics- the characters and set look a lot like something from Return to Oz or a Tim Burton movie.

Sure has a bland title, wants me to watch it even more! Since it is award winning/nominated, it must be really good.
"Wicked" is a new Broadway show based on the novel by Gregory Maguire (who happens to be my favorite writer). He also wrote "Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister" (story of Cinderella from the stepsister's point of view), and "Mirror Mirror" which is an adaptation of Snow White. I highly recommend his books, they're all fantastic. I am halfway through "Wicked" right now and am addicted - my mom, sister, and brother are all in line to borrow the book whenever I finish it. The show looks wonderful. I haven't seen it but I have the soundtrack which is great. Well, I haven't listened to all of it yet, I'm waiting till I finish the book first ;) If you get a chance to see the show, SEE IT! Kristin Chenowirth is Glinda and from what I can see, she's perfect. I really, really want to see the show, and am definately rooting for it at the Tony's!
