I missed the beginning of the finale, so I'm a little confused. What happened to Kenny? Why did he leave KACL?

He had to fill in for Frasier, who missed a show b/c he was w/ Charlotte, and he said that he "got the radio bug," so he went off to try and have his own show as a DJ.
