Remember when Fred wanted a new color TV and pretended to have amnesia and went to the hospital. It took Lamont to the end of the show to discover that Fred was faking.

-Fred is in the hospital, drinking a beer no less. Lamont couldn't smell it on his breath.

He is in the bed mumbling about a color TV as L and the Dr. (The ear, nose, and throat man) are discussing his condition. A person with amnesia can remember a TV. And Lamont couldn't figure it out.
