View Full Version : Before they were famous....
Lady T 05-12-2004, 11:55 PM I was watching the Complete First Season DVD Good Times; and I was happily surprised to see a very young Phillip Michael Thomas (Miami Vice) playing a young, and intellectual suitor of Thelma; can anyone recall seeing another television, or movie actor making an appearance on Good Times, before this person made it BIG on other projects?

magellan 05-19-2004, 03:51 PM I seem to recall Janet Jackson achieving a moderate level of success after her role as Penny...
Other than that, there was Gary Coleman, Helen Martin (never hugely successful but always had steady work), Louis Gossett, the actresss who played Moesha's setpmother (forgot her name), and Shirley Hemphill.
Also, the cat who played Mad Dog cut his 'fro, started rapping, and became Method Man (smile)

marvin g 05-28-2004, 09:11 PM Sheryl Lee Ralph was on good times? Interesting. The mother on How to be a player was on their too. She had the hard of hearing son who almost fell down the elavator shaft. as a matter a fact she was in Friday after Last, if that was the name of it, with Ice Cube. She was the nasty landlord of Craig and DeDe buillding.
