This special comes on next Monday at 8 or 9 pm on ABC. I'll be watching it. Lionel Richie & Cedric The Entertainer are the hosts. The Commodores, Four Tops, Temptations & some new acts are gonna be on there. Jermaine Jackson will also be on there.

I notice it said The Commodores will be there, while Lionel Richie is host.... can we expect a reunion performance?

I would like to see a Commodores reunion. That would be great. They haven't been together in yrs. Can u believe they still made albums after Lionel left the group? Hahahahahahahahahahaha. They should've known they were gonna suck after he left them.

well, Nightshift from 1985 was a pretty big hit without Lionel, but outside of that, I can't think of any other post-Lionel success

I remember The Jacksons made a album after Michael left called 2300 Jackson Street that didn't sell well. They should've known the album wasn't gonna sell without Michael. Nobody wants to hear his brothers without him. Tito, Jackie, Randy, Jermaine were the only ones on that album. I'm surprised Marlon wasn't on there. I actually liked 2300 Jackson Street & Nothin Compares To U songs that were on that Jacksons album. I never heard the whole album, just those singles. Most lead singers that leave groups, the groups don't do well when they replace the lead singer with another guy. Kool & The Gang tried it after James Taylor left them & it didn't work. The Temptations tried it after David Ruffin left by replacing him with Dennis Edwards & it didn't work. I actually liked The Temptations songs when Dennis was with them in the 70's. I also think LTD made a couple of albums without Jeffrey Osborne after he left them which didn't work.

I hope this special will be on for the first time since 1983 when they did "Motown 25".:)

Won't be as good as Motown 25, no Michael Jackson, no Diana Ross catfights with Mary Wilson, no Stevie Wonder. Another interesting thing is it looks like Boyz II Men won't be a part of it either. They were Motown's biggest act for 8 to 10 years, they came along too late for Motown 25 and are pretty much over for Motown 45.

Motown's 45th anniversary special was very weak last night. I can't believe they had Cedric The Entertainer & that black girl from American Idol singin It Takes Two. I was also surprised Lionel Richie didn't reunite with the Commodores on stage when they sang. My father thinks that Kelly Rowland of Destiny's Child did a terrible job singin Endless Love with Lionel Richie last night. I was also surprised Diana Ross wasn't there. Nona Gaye who is Marvin Gaye's daughter is so hot. She was there last night to introduce Brian McKnight singin Marvin Gaye's What's Going On song. I missed Jermaine Jackson singin. What did he sing? I was surprised Wayne Brady sang Stevie Wonder's I Wish song last night. Wayne is a talented dude.
