viewers than Three's Company. If I live to be 103, i will never understand what made L&S more appealing than Three's Company. If there is a L&S fan who can breakdown why, i'm just dying to know.

I like both shows, though Three's Company is a lot better(imo). Laverne and Shirley was in it's prime when Three's Company started out. In Three's Company's first full season, Laverne and Shirley had no real competition while Three's Company had to compete with MASH. I have no explanation for the 78-79 season but Three's Company was no.2 in the ratings right behind L&S. From 1979-1983, more people watched Three's Company than Laverne and Shirley. Three's Company got a lot better in 1979 when Furley replaced the Ropers. Not because the ropers weren't funny, they were, in fact some might say they were funnier than Furley, but because of John Ritter. He really started to shine when the Ropers left.

I love both shows a lot and they are my favorites, but I like Laverne & Shirley a little bit more because it was more realistic. Three's Company, at times, did not seem real (so to speak) because the show relied only on the misunderstandings between the characters. However, Laverne & Shirley seemed real because the stories were more believable and not so far-fetched as Three's Company's.

I like both shows about the same.

But TC gets the edge, because L&S jumped the shark when they moved to California.

Whereas the only semi-boring episodes of TC were with Cindy, but it got good again with Terri.

IMO, the show was very enjoyable. The physical comedy was great, as were the actors and actresses on the show. Most episodes were generally pretty good. I even liked it after it went to California -- the only season I dislike is the last season without Shirley.

I don't like it as much as Three's Company, but I can definitely see why it had such high ratings.
