Leave Kaley alone. I know she is young but she is still human. She is a 18 year old hottie actress, i am sure we do not want to know all of the other thing she might be doing.

John probably told her to quit this habit. As for Katey and James, well,Katey has smoked( as of 1998 she still was),so she probably told Kaley the dangers and has probably told her she should quit and James has smoked,so he probably lectures her to quit from a grandfatherly point of view.

yea i was pretty surprised when i found out she smokes, but I'm not going to judge her on it. I mean it doesnt really change how I see her or anything. For all we know it could have been brought on by stress or something, I mean this past year was probably pretty stressful for her and there were a lot of things happening all at once. But who knows! Anyways she's still a great actress and i like her just as much as i did before :wave:

John Ritter admitted to being a chain smoker during his stint on 'Three's Company' although he said he was always trying to quit. If he lectured about it he would have to tread carefully, or else he'd look like a hypocrite. I'm pretty sure she didn't smoke before his passing, because she was underage at the time. I think it's too bad, but she's an adult, and perfectly capable of making her own decisions.

i just saw the episode. there was like a 3 second moment where she was seen with what looked like cigarette smoke in the lower left of the screen. now, it did look like it was hers... but it could have easily been someone else's (who was not shown on TV). during the rest of it, she wasnt smoking

I watched that episode 3 times and all I saw in her hand was keys. we even had a thread about this at www.kaleycuoco.org and everyone else said it was keys too. I dont think she smokes.

You can't tell if that's from whatever is in Kaley's hand, or if it's from something else. It looks like it's from something else though.

Well, come on now that's not really being fare to her. It's her decision and I'll support her 100% even if its the wrong choice, she's no different from any other person who smokes however it would be nice if she stopped.

I don't think we should stop watching 8 Simple Rules over that 1 reason I think maybe if we all got together and maybe sent ABC something with our concerns it might do just as better, just to show her that we care and don't want her to get cancer.

I agree, I don't like when anybody smokes but its her choice

The fact that Kaley smokes has nothing to do with the quality of the show. It doesn't change how good of an actress she is, or anything like that. So if you choose not to watch the show, it shouldn't be just because of the fact that she smokes. There are lots of tv actors and actresses who smoke, and it doesn't affect the show or it's ratings. Like everyone's been saying, it's her choice. :wave:

boycotting is the WORST thing to do in the world of TV.

if the core fans boycott.... the show will fail in the ratings and get cancelled.

I agree with that...she's not underage anymore,and the cast will lose their jobs if a boycotting occurs,so I think that no boycotting should occur. It's her life,let her run it.

I mean I don't smoke but I know lots of people from HIGHSCHOOL i.e. are under age who do and I don't think less of them (although do discourage them). Also why are you so surprised that she smokes I mean all we really know of her is what we see on tv and stuff and that is with all actors and actresses a portrayal of who they and the networks want them to appear as to the audience not really an accurate portrayal of who they truly are in normal everyday life. Shes 18, millions of young people smoke and i dont know why were suprised she smokes, and like its been said before, she isnt any different that a regular joe schmoe smoking. She could've even been smoking even before the show started. Who knows? All I know is, IF the show gets canceled, another door always opens for these people. Yes, I realize that if the show is canceled, that there is a good possibility that it won't make syndication(but after all, isn't that what we're really hoping for here, to see John again in syndication possibly in 2007 maybe on ABC Family).

Kaley's agent has confirmed she quit smoking, I have to say at first I was in shock because she seemed like the perfect girl and all, but she's only human and if she wants to smoke she can, even though I disagree I'll respect her decisions every time.
