My parents want to get Sat Tv and they are intrested in Direct Tv or dish net...any1 no whcich is better..to me they seem the same(BOTH GET TVLAND!)...they work out 2 be the same price almost. But we would have to keep cable cause we have 8 tvs in the house and the main tv will have sat. So can anyone reccomend..thanks

I have Dish Network and I'm really happy with it. I get so many channels that I feel like the program guide is on the screen more often than any actual shows. Anyway, I chose Dish over DTV a few years ago. I lurked on the alt.satellite.dbs newsgroups for a while before making the decision. However, Echostar (Dish Network) is making a bid to take over DirectTV so your choice may be a moot point as they'll both be essentially the same if the sale happens. If you have any questions about it though, just let me know. The channel choice is mostly the same.

Dish Network is great! I have had it for quite a while and its really good.

hey thanks for the replys i appericate it much. i was leaning towards dish because they offer a lower payment for the first year. Now all i have to do is fig out how much equpiment is, not to many sites have info on dish net. O yea and i would have to fig out if the wire from the sat could be hidden in some way...lol dumb thing to ask but its not something we want runing from the roof. THanks a lot
