View Full Version : Download Conversions?

So far, I've downloaded the first three season one episodes. I'll download the others on my fast connection in the coming weeks. The problem I came across burning them to DVD was the systems were different. Because Europe has the PAL system, the webmaster(s) who converted the Dutch episodes also converted them in form of PAL. How I knew this was when I burned them and then viewed them on my home DVD player, it would not play because of the region difference. Therefore, I took them into Adobe Premiere and converted them into the NTSC system (which is what North America and Japan uses, by the way) and then burned them onto DVD. The problem with that was after about 14 minutes into the episode, the screen freezes but you can still hear the sound keep going. It happened on all three. :(

So, to TGC225 who seems to dabble with DV, how do you convert your season one episodes from the Dutch website? Please post here, or anyone else who dabbles and converts digitally from these episodes. Would you please share any info for the rest of us? Thanks ahead of time! :D

First of all, I don't know if you've already done this, but you can burn the files as MPEG1 files instead of MPEG2:

I haven't done any framerate standards conversions, but here's some topics that you might find helpful:

Sorry I couldn't be of more help :( I don't have a DVD player so I haven't tested any of this myself.

Thanks so much for your suggestion!! I will bookmark them and read them. :) I mean, I can burn them onto DVD, but since the system is different in regions, there's something I need to convert to be able to see it all. I'll keep trying and researching!! THanks so much! :)
