I was watching NY1 that I saw that Loew's Theatres is celebrating its 100 birthday in the business. The theatre was founded by Marcus Loew in 1905 showing Penny Arcades. In the 1930's where the talkies swept Hollywood, Loew's replacing with the penny arcade with the movie screen and the seats. Now, 100 years later, the old theatres would never survive, the sigle-screened theatres became multiplexes and Loew's became the biggest movie theatre company in the world.
