I don't about anyone else, but to me Leroy was wild-LOL His slang, his style, and his dancing was too much for me. Should have been enough for him to remain on the show.

View Full Version : Was Fred's Friend LEROY underrated? TVFactFan 05-08-2004, 02:26 PM I don't about anyone else, but to me Leroy was wild-LOL His slang, his style, and his dancing was too much for me. Should have been enough for him to remain on the show. FredFan55 05-11-2004, 04:42 PM And wasn't Leroy one of several of Redd Foxx's entertainment buddies from way back when? Seems that Slappy White, Leroy, Skillet, Big Money Grip, and La Wanda Page all had careers as entertainers from the black show circuits before appearing on Sanford and Son. Somewhere or another I've read a summary of "Who's Who" of the S & S characters and what their careers were before S & S. Anybody know this? FredFan55 teddybare 05-12-2004, 03:27 AM Leroy was very underrated to me he was kewl and very funny far funnier than Skillet Bubba and Grady. The epidsode I thought he was funniest in was the one where they are gonna have a big party at Freds and he does the Lindy Hop that was hysterical. I also thought he was very funny in the pool table episode when he gets the long distance call from cha cha hogan and first thing he says HEYYYYYYY MAN WHERE U BEEN LMAO jekouptown 05-14-2004, 02:45 PM Originally posted by teddybare Leroy was very underrated to me he was kewl and very funny far funnier than Skillet Bubba and Grady. Since Lamont made it clear he needed Leroy to be brief and clear the line. Actually "Cha Cha Hogan" is a real person. And you can see him in the ep "Brother Can You Spare An Act",he's the guy that heckled Rodney. I have a Ph.D in Sanford And Son,lol! catlover79 01-30-2010, 02:48 AM I liked Leroy, too. He was hysterical :) Do you all watch the uncut reruns that air from 11am to 12pm saturdays on tvone cable channel there great Unfortunately, I don't have cable, but I have seen S&S on DVD. "Pops N Pals" is actually one of my all-time favorite S&S episodes. "Sanford & Sanford & Fuentes" is another hysterical one - where Fred, Lamont and Julio do the TV commercial. teddybare 01-30-2010, 05:42 PM Unfortunately, I don't have cable, but I have seen S&S on DVD. "Pops N Pals" is actually one of my all-time favorite S&S episodes. "Sanford & Sanford & Fuentes" is another hysterical one - where Fred, Lamont and Julio do the TV commercial. Julio was hilarious in the Sanford & Sanford & Fuentes aka the merger episode  Rollo was very funny too but I could just look at Julio and laugh. When Julio was translating for the chicano viewers in the commercial it was beyond hysterical . Especially when he got serious reading the letter from a satisfied customer:rofl: BTW Who can forget Julio saying JUNKAREA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The episodes with julio are my fav ones of Lamonts friends episodes Julio was a little funnier than Rollo catlover79 01-30-2010, 06:24 PM ^ I stand corrected. The name of the ep was indeed "The Merger". I love Fred saying to Julio, "how would you like a fat lip?" and then Julio begins to translate that!! When Lamont came swaggering in wearing that goofy tie, I completely lost it. :brent Big Fred Fan 02-05-2010, 01:58 PM do you know that grady and lamont are about the same age in real life...?? Leroy and Skillet had their own thing. They where in movies with Rudy Ray Moore. Whitman Mayo (Grady Wilson) was born in 1930. Grady Demond Wilson (Lamont Sanford) was born in 1946. teddybare 03-22-2010, 12:31 PM He was very underrated Leroy was hilarious. Especially in the party episode where he was showing Lamont how to do the Lindy Hop. and In the Pool table episode when he answered the phone HEY MAN WHERE YOU BEEN!!! LMAO He was funny in just about every episode I saw him in. |
