I started drinking coffee on and off, starting in around 1989 or 1990. I was like that til about 1996, when I started having coffee daily, and I've had it daily ever since. When I have coffee, I put in a bit of flavored creamer and then regular creamer to balance it out. :) (Don't worry, I immediately pop a piece of gum to get rid of that nasty aftertaste) HootervilleFan 05-07-2004, 02:54 PM I drink decaf iced coffee every so often in the summer. I stay away from caffeine due to a condition I have called fibrocystic breast disease. That and I am usually hepped up anyway! I was once consuming about 10 cups of coffee per day. That was way too much! I was doing everything about ten times faster...no matter **what** it was! :bash: :typing: :argue: :guitar: :woohoo: :mumble: :mango :eek3: Kristina 05-07-2004, 04:09 PM I drink it with my mouth. Tuesday Weld 05-07-2004, 04:10 PM I love coffee, but I can only have decaf. MonarC 05-07-2004, 04:13 PM I like my coffe with lots of cream and sugar. :p Cashodeen 05-07-2004, 04:54 PM I don't like coffee and I don't think I ever will. Everyone in Washington seems to drink it (damn Seattle and their coffee shops), and I am just an outsider. I think not drinking it is causing me to be ostracized by my peers. :o ...JK. TJL 05-07-2004, 04:59 PM Light and sweet. Just like my women... ;) Dutabi84 05-07-2004, 05:54 PM Coffee is one of those extremely rare things that smell 100x better than it actually tastes. PZelda 05-07-2004, 06:01 PM Originally posted by Jen1989 Wow, you started drinking ocffee in 1989? Weren't you only 4 in 1989? I can't imagine a 4 year old drinking coffee. Yep..but only on and off. I used to drink from my mom's coffee cup. Occasionally, I'd have my own cup of coffee...but it was always a small one. Now I have a 20-oz of coffee in the morning. I found a love for coffee early on! I've always loved the smell of coffee since I was a really little girl! :) PZelda 05-07-2004, 06:05 PM Originally posted by Jen1989 I've never liked the smell of coffee. I guess you either really like the smell of coffee or you hate the smell of coffee. I ADOOOOOOOOOOORE the smell of coffee, but NOT if it's government coffee. (IE - the coffee in the teachers' lounge, etc) It's usually really stale coffee already packaged in a bag like a teabag, but about 5x the size. NAAAAASTY. :barf: Hollow 05-07-2004, 06:11 PM the thought of coffee makes vomit come up to my throat. Brian 05-07-2004, 06:18 PM This thread brings back memories. When I was little (5 to 7 years old) if my mother or father had a mug of coffee but didn't finish it, I would drink what was left. It would always be cold by the time I drank it and that is how I liked it. This was before I knew about germs and that you shouldn't eat off people's plates or drink from other people's unfinished cups. Maybe I should start drinking coffee again. If I liked it when I was little, I would like it if I had it today. OLdsk00L87 05-07-2004, 07:08 PM oh baby i LOOOOOOVE my coffee!!! i drink it with enough half-and-half to turn it a bit brown and two lumps of sugar. I drink it every morning and put it in a to-go-cup to drink on the way to school :p Penny Lane 05-07-2004, 08:21 PM I am a coffee- holic! I drink mine with cream. Only on school days to wake me up in the morning, but then I HAD to stop because I was constantly going to the bathroom at school and that was not worth it to me! So, I haven't drank coffee since and it doesn't bother me. dawsongirl 05-08-2004, 02:22 AM I get my caffeine from soda. Cashodeen 05-08-2004, 03:25 AM Originally posted by dawsongirl I get my caffeine from soda. Same here. When I get up in the morning (or afternoon or whenever), I drink soda. I don't feel like the caffeine affects me, but it's what I drink. dandelion wine 05-08-2004, 03:42 AM I've been a coffee drinker since I was 5 years old in 1979, and I still can't get enough. Hot, cold - it doesn't matter. Preferably with plenty of cream and a little bit of sugar. Crimson and Clover 05-08-2004, 10:01 AM lots of sugar ANYSNTHATWORKS 05-08-2004, 10:07 AM Iced coffee, hot coffee, mocha latees, vanilla coffee, chai's, dunkachinos, ANYTHING that is coffee flavored and has caffeine. Although, I drink coffee so much I think I'm immune to the whole coffee gives you energy idea. If anything, it gives me energy when I'm awake, not half asleep. When I'm half asleep it makes it worse. LOL Anyway, I preferably like it with xtra xtra sugar. In other words, six sugars or more. And milk in hot coffee but light cream in iced coffee. Ahhhh gotta love it. What would I do without coffee?! Oh my God, I think I just might.....DIE! hehe I'm worse then an alcoholic with it. But anyways, that's probably thanks to my Grandmother hooking me on it when I was 6. Whoo hoo. Go grams. hehe HootervilleFan 05-08-2004, 12:43 PM I had a taste for coffee as a kid too. My parents used to let me put a spoonful in my milk. Which was the only way I could drink milk! BLEH do I HATE milk! And yes...ICED coffee is cold coffee over ice, in my case with milk no sugar, to whoever asked me. Moonlight Lady 05-09-2004, 12:58 PM I LOOOVE Coffee  Coolatas are great, Kahlua and Mocha are my favorites. I like my coffee with cream and two sweet n lows or 2 splendas. It's the opposite over here- I'm in Ireland- where everyone drinks tea- but me! I'm in the coffee-drinking minority, just started regularly this year. Over here, unless you're a teacher, it's suspicious to drink coffee. I drink it quite strong but with milk (no sugar- sugar is vile in coffee!)- and always have like 2 biscuits (always the same kind- they're the only biscuits I know that work with coffee!)- and drink it every morning because it fully wakes you up. When I'm on a school break I drink way more coffee than I should and end up watching movies till 2am (I'm thankful- if it weren't for coffee I'd never have seen The Road to Wellville!). Also, we have very few coffee shops (England has been invaded with them- we'll get a starbucks soon- we've already been invaded by Subway- they're everywhere!)- if you go to a shop and order coffee- they have to think about it- cos it's been so long since anyone has ordered it. I wanna start drinking different kinds- I change brands occassionally- but there was one brand that always made me feel really ill. Does anyone know if you can suffer withdrawal- one morning I didn't drink it and during that day I thought I was gonig to collapse with chest pains!Anywho- most coffee flavoured foods are nice too. God- this post is long- maybe cos I've had coffee- I type like I talk! Jokerette 05-10-2004, 05:41 PM This is probably weird but I HATE coffee, and tea. Just can't stand it. It makes me feel sick, I can't stomach the stuff at all. Yuck. Mostly I drink just water or hot chocolate, and sometimes Dr Pepper. The coffee in England RULES. I noticed a definite difference in the taste of coffee over there than back here in the States. I LOVE LOVE LOVE Caffe Nero!!!! That was the BEST coffeeshop I went to while I was in England. They need to have that over here. :) Caffe Nero's site... http://www.caffenero.co.uk/default.asp Krisalicious 05-10-2004, 07:35 PM I don't really like any type of hot coffee. Cold coffee drinks however, like Caramel Frappuchinos from Starbucks and Vanilla Coolattas from Dunkin Donuts...I LOVE those. TJL 05-10-2004, 10:44 PM This morning I went over to the Starbucks on 49th between 8th and 9th; not the one around the corner on 8th avenue, or the one up on 8th and 53rd, or the one down the block on 9th and 47th and picked up a pound of their Breakfast blend. The packages says it's "bright and sparkly." Just like me. ;) Janice 05-11-2004, 12:00 AM I need coffee in the morning before I can string two sentences together. I love it with cream and sugar, but I use Equal and milk. Chocoholic 05-11-2004, 11:19 AM Some people are alcoholics; I'm a coffee-aholic! :D I drink mine with milk and sugar. Except, surprisingly, I've never had tea. Well, if I ever try tea and like it, I'm there. :) robyrob 05-13-2004, 07:16 AM i just "quit" drinking coffee about two weeks ago (and by quit, i actually mean that i cut down to one cup in the morning) after years of being a "coffee-aholic" ...it has been easier than i thought it would be, but it hasn't made a positive difference yet i do miss drinking pot after pot at work, and occasionally treating myself to those fancy caramel macchiatos and vanilla breves though |
