Hey, Lisa Whelchel was mentioned in my local newspaper today! My mom saw it and showed it to me. It was in the "Newsmakers" section and said:

Lisa Whelchel, who played spioled Blair Warner on "The Facts of Life," is experiencing firsthand how America has changed since Sept. 11. Whelchel, her husband, Steve, and their three children are spending a year touring the country in a recreational vehicle. She homeschools the kids, ages 9, 10, and 11. "We'll hit about every state except one or two. It wasn't our goal as much as to see the sights that America is famous for," she said. Whelchel was filming "The Facts of Life" reunion movie, airing Nov. 18 on ABC, in Toronto when the East Coast terrorist attacks occurred. "I had no idea until recently how much this has affected New Yorkers," Whelchel, 38, said Thursday by telephone from an Ohio truck stop. "Walking into this truck stop, they had pushed all the Indiana and Ohio T-shirts out of the way and all the big displays were of 'United We Stand' and 'God Bless America,'" she said. "That is the common bond all across America."
