Guess what, "New York Minute" is playing in theatres today.:woohoo: I definitely want to go see it. I'm looking forward to that. It's playing all over the Tri-State area and the Hudson Valley. There's one is now showing at the Lyceum Cinemas in Red Hook and the Regal Cinemas (formerly Hoyt's Cinemas) at the Hudson Valley Mall. I can't wait to see it. Mary-Kate & Ashley made their first grown-up feature film since "It Takes Two" in 1995. That was 9 years ago.

How are the reviews on the movie? Is it just like the other Olsen Twin movies? *yawn*

Not good. Not good at all.

http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/NewYorkMinute-1132243/

Average review score is a 3.8 out of 10 (all reviews are converted to a 1-10 scoring system, then averaged)

IMDB user reviews aren't looking too hot either:

http://imdb.com/title/tt0363282/

2.7/10 (132 votes)

Though you have to give that a few days to stabilize.

I'm guessing it'll be a mild success in the box offices due to HUGE Olsen Twin fanbase. But looks like the movie itself is not too good. Then again, Full House racked up a lot of bad reviews so you never know.

"New York Minute" got fair reviews. According to the Daily News website, The film gave 2 stars (**). It's just an OK movie. The New York Post gave 1 1/2 Stars (* 1/2).:)

Sounds like a bad movie.

Reviews that low means the movie will effectively suck.

It's not the BEST movie, but it is really good for being a Mary-Kate & Ashley movie. You know what I mean? You can definitely see them targeting a more mature audience. They have jokes for the older teenagers (not tweens) and adults and you can see their acting appears to be a lot more mature and a lot better.

But overall enjoyed the movie, but it's not the best movie out there. If I was a critic I would give it 3 stars out of 5. And that's only based upon the storyline. Not because it's the Olsen's. I can see them doing much better movies that we'd all love if they were giving the right roles because their acting has definitely improved.

I know that the movie wasn't successful than last year's movie "Gigli" with Jennifer Lopez.

You cant go by reviews, Brent88. Reviews are basically just someone's opinion of a movie. Reviews stink! :thumbsdow ohno:

It was good for what it was.

I don't think the twins have the screen prescence or charm of Hilary Duff and the movie wasn't as good as The Lizzie McGuire movie (which wasn't hated that bad among critics), but they have an undeniable chemistry and they knew they had to market the humor at young kids and they smartly included some sex innuendos and revealing scenes in order to attract guys like me.

I wouldn't recommend it to anyone looking for great cinema, but it's a guilty pleasure.

That doesn't make sense.

Almost every movie on the face of the earth did better than that movie did. That movie was AWFUL.

I think its because there is too much compitition right now for Mary Kate and Ashley. I.E. Lindsay Lohan and Hilary Duff. I know Mary Kate and Ashley started way before them on Full House but now Lindsay and Hilary are the new teen stars.

I heard that movie was bad. I wasnt allowed to see it because it was rated R, and I was 11 when it came out. Even though If I was allowed to watch rated R movies, I wouldnt see it. ;)

I didn't have to watch it. I *almost*rented it the other day at the movie store, but there were only 2 copies total. LOL! The big movies usually have 20 or 30 copies in the store when they are a new release. :D That shows you it sucked.

I looked up in the Daily Freeman this morning that according to the Top 5 movies, "New York Minute" is at #4 at the Box Office. "Van Helsing" is at #1.:)
