Being in the UK there are many popular US sitcoms I've not been able to see a single episode of. I don't know if these never aired here but if they did I've certainly never seen them. The main ones being...

I have never seen Friends, Seinfeld or Will And Grace or any other new sitcom since about 1999.:lol: The last sitcoms that I watched regularly were Roseanne and Home Improvement.

The Farmer's Daughter I haven't seen since it was on the old CBN station back in the mid and late 80's.

Yea I know some of them aren't in syndication because they were live. I have seen episodes of Beulah and Goldbergs advertised on VHS on some websites People's Choice was once on the Nostalgia Network which became Goodlife. I had the network then but for some reason I didn't watch it. I talked to one person on SO who said that The Ray Milland Show had been airing in Australia. I don't know about December Bride or Our Miss Brooks. I think Farmers Daughter and Please Don't Eat The Daiseys probably have the best chance to come to network tv. A couple more I haven't seen are The Aldrich Family ( that was live too but a few kinoscopes exist and has been sold on vhs) and the Bill Cosby Show, his 1969-1971 sitcom.

I never saw Hennessy, Farmer's Daughter, Real McCoys, Hey Landlord, any version of Blondie, The Good Guys, Arnie, On the Rocks, Roll Out, HotL Baltimore, Bob Cummings, Evening Shade, Teech, any of Paul Lynde's sitcoms other than Bewitched, Hazel and nothing from before 1953 except I Love Lucy, Abbott and Costello and Burns and Allen.

There are more I can't think of and a long list of shows I've only seen one episode of (My World and Welcome to It, He and She, Will and Grace, Friends) or only a few minutes (NewsRadio, Suddenly Susan) or it was on the screen and I wasn't paying attention to it (Please Don't Eat the Daisies, Petticoat Junction) or I don't remember if I ever saw it or not because it left little to no impression on me.

National Association for the Advancement of Colored People is an african american dominant organization. They felt the Amos and Andy characters reinforced negative stereotypes about blacks being lazy, shiftless and stupid so they forced the show off the air in 1953 (it was in the top 20 at the time) and completely out of syndication in 1966. It's on video though.

I think their website is www.naacp.org. They give out annual Image awards for tv shows, movies, literature and music. Their choices give you a pretty good idea of what they consider acceptable portrayals of black culture.

I always wanted to see The Mothers-In-Law.

Shows I have never seen. Easy for me to answer. All the sitcoms of the 1990's and 2000's. I spent the last 15 years watching shows of the previous decades. Many shows mentioned from the 50's to 70's I would like to see/ Pete and Gladys. I think that show was one of the first spin offs. I came from December Bride. Dig out those Black and white shows for me

I also want to see Goodnight, Beantown...but the chances of that happening a pretty slim. It lasted all of 13 or so eps and then faded into oblivion.

you're not missing much (IMO) with Will And Grace. The characters are so boring that they have a revolving door around celebrity guest stars (I don't think they had one episode this season that didn't have at least one semi-famous guest-star) to make up for the missing humor.

Friends and Seinfeld, you oughta watch an early episode of Friends (basically anything from 1994-2000), and basically ANY episode of Seinfeld, at least to say you've watched it, you might like them. Seinfeld is certainly one of the last "greats"

Due to the nature of my television interests (short-lived and obscure) I haven't seen a lot of sitcoms from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s that many of you have. While I do enjoy sitcoms a lot I try not to pigeonhole myself to one genre, which limits the amount of time I can spend trying to watch sitcoms as opposed to sf shows or dramas, cop shows and the odd variety hour.

In terms of sitcoms I've yet to see, my list may be surprising. I've never seen Maude or The Cosby Show or The Golden Girls or Rhoda or The Mary Tyler Moore Show Seinfeld or Barney Miller Chico and the Man ,Sanford and Son , Diff'rent Strokes , The Facts of Life , The Dick Van Dyke Show or Mad About You...et cetera, et cetera.

If you wanted to get into the obscure shows I have seen my list would be quite extensive.

If you are ever in Manhattan (New York City) check out the Paley Center. Formerly called the Museum of Radio & Television. If you get there early (before 11am) you can get an appt. for the viewing library & see 2 hrs of shows. Many of the shows above are archived for immed. viewing. I know for sure Room 222 is cause I've watched 7-8 eps there.

The LA Museum may have this too, but I'm not sure abt this as I'm on the east.

Your not missing much with Ugly Betty. I'm shocked you've never seen Seinfeld though. It's on ALL the time, and was extremely popular in it's day (and still is). It is worth seeing. There's some great comedy there.

I think Ugly Betty is pretty funny, the characters are likeable.
